On Thursday, starting at 17:00, the Zenit St. Petersburg – Molde FK game will be played on the 2018-2019 Europa League play-off.
The two bands have never met in European competitions.
The Sankt-Petersburg group found their offensive appetite after defeating Minsk, score 0-4 with Dinamo. They defeated 1-0 away at Rubin Kazan, they managed the “historical return” of the score with the Belarusian team, shattering 8-1 after the extra time. Also in the last stage disputed in Russia, they won home with Ural, score 4-1. Zenit looks better and Molde will find it very hard to withstand the Russian “tavalug”.
The Norwegians won a very strong group of Europa League last season, including Fenerbahce Istanbul, Ajax Amsterdam and Celtic Glasgow. In sixteen, they defeated the Spanish team Sevilla 1-0, but lost 0-3 away. Molde has so far eliminated Glenavon (NIR), Laci (ALB) and Hibernian (SCO) with no great problems, scoring 14 goals along the way.
It is anticipated a very spectacular duel, in which Zenit starts a big favorite.
