Wolves vs Everton PREVIEW & PREDICTION 12/07/2020

On Sunday, at 12:00, Wolverhampton and Everton have an interesting duel on Molineux, in the 35th round of the Premier League. There are two bands with different playing styles: “wolves” are very good at maintaining possession, while “caramels” are more advantageous in speed counterattacks. We will definitely see quality football in this duel.

Without Adama Traore, Wolves will lose a bit of “explosion” in the offensive, but Raul Jimenez and his colleagues will certainly have opportunities to shine in front of Carlo Ancelotti’s team. On the other hand, the white-blues cannot rely on Delph, Gbamin, Tosun, Gomes and Holgate, which limits the selection area for the Italian manager. Hard to choose the winning team here!

Probably the two teams will cancel each other, considering that both managers know each other very well and will annihilate their opponents in the key points. Wolverhampton is on the 6th place in England, in the middle of the fight for the qualification in the Europa League (goal average 45-37), while Everton is on the 11th (goal average 41-49) and has no goal, at the end of the season. Even if we can say that the guests are more “relaxed”, this does not mean that Wolves will prevail.

In the last two stages, Nuno Santo’s team lost to Arsenal (0-2) and Sheffield United (0-1), after a good restart of the season. Everton have lost just one of their last five games and come after a 1-1 draw with Southampton at Goodison Park. In the round, Everton beat Wolves at home, 3-2, and in 4 of the last 5 direct duels we saw at least three goals scored! However, Molineux will be played in a different “key”, because the stakes are high for the hosts.

Wolverhampton Wanderers: Patricio; Boly, Coady, Saiss; Doherty, Dendoncker, Moutinho, Neves, Jonny; Jota, Jimenez
Coach: Nuno Santo
Everton: Pickford; Coleman, Keane, Mina, Digne; Walcott, Davies, Sigurdsson, Gordon; Richarlison, Calvert-Lewin
Coach: Carlo Ancelotti

-In 4 of the last 5 direct duels both teams scored;
-Wolverhampton have won only one direct duel in the last 9;
-Everton is without victory in the last 8 trips made on the field of the Top 10 teams;
-In 65% of Wolves’ home matches, less than three goals were scored;
-Wolves has only 6 wins in 17 matches played at home. Everton has 4 away successes;
