Werder Bremen booked a very welcome victory last Saturday. The North Germans will want to triumph again on Tuesday when Borussia visits Mönchengladbach.
Werder Bremen:
Werder Bremen fans had to wait a long time, but Saturday was the day: Bremen won another league game. A negative streak of seven games without a win ended in the Schwarzwald Stadium. Bremen was surprisingly the strongest in the match against SC Freiburg (0-1). Game-wise it was a game to forget quickly, but that didn’t diminish the joy of the three points at Die Hanseaten.
The win was reduced the distance with number 15 FSV Mainz 05. The team now has six points more than number seventeen Werder. The northerners also played a game less than their competitors. Philipp Bargfrede received his second yellow card in the final phase of the match in Freiburg and was suspended for a game. Veteran Claudio Pizarro is still in the rag basket.
Borussia MG:
Borussia Mönchengladbach suffered an expensive loss of points on Saturday. Those Fohlen are engaged in an exciting battle for the Champions League ticket, and in that battle there was an important mutual duel on the program. In his own Borussia Park, Gladbach proved to be no match for competitor Bayer Leverkusen. Considering ninety minutes, the team of coach Marco Rose brought too little to claim a good result – BMG lost the game 1-3.
“Bremen doesn’t have a bad team in itself,” Rose said at the preliminary press conference. “Their victory over Freiburg was very important, they now have a tailwind,” said the Gladbach coach. Tobias Strobl and Breel Embolo are both not available on Tuesday. This does not have to lead to despair, because Gladbach’s selection is wide. There is still plenty to choose for Rose.
PREDICTION: B. Monchengladbach to win @ 1,73
