Watford vs Burnley PREVIEW & PREDICTION 19/01/2019

Saturday, at 15:00, Watford receives Burnley’s visit to the 23rd Premier League, in a match where we expect the goals to be scored especially in the second half. Watford is the 7th in the championship (32-32 golaver), while Burnley is on 15th place (23-43) and is far from being safe in the fight to avoid relegation.

Watford has already lost 5 games out of 11 on his own home, but is due to a team that does not excel at all on foreign ground: 2-2-7 in 11 matches. Sean Dyche’s band has strong attacking players like Wood or Vokes, but physically suffers in front of rivals who are doing well. It is no surprise that Burnley has received a goal in the last quarter of an hour in three of the last four matches played in the Premier League, even though the shape of the white-bullet moment is impressive: 4 consecutive wins!

Burnley has 3 stages in a row with a win in the Premier League, managing to beat West Ham United (2-0), Huddersfield (2-1) and Fulham (2-1), points being vital in the basement battle. In the last two stages, Burnley was the first to receive the goal, but the fighting spirit of the Turf Moor band is undeniable, so Sean Dyche’s students turned the heroic score. In addition to these excellent results is added the victory of the English Cup, 1-0 with Barnsley. Otherwise, Watford has 4 consecutive no-goal matches, including the Woking Cup match.

Javi Gracia’s “Viespile” drew with Newcastle (1-1) and Bournemouth (3-3, all goals being scored in the first half), but then won with Woking (2-0) and last round in moving from Crystal Palace (2-1). Thus, we expect both bands to seek the way to the goal, being on the wave after the last results, but also the incredible defensive defenses are penetrable. In 3 of the last four matches, both bands were scored, and Watford was on the turn, scoring 3-1. The difference was then made by the individualities of the London team, who start with the first chance, with a declining share.

Burnley must sit well in the defensive, given the first goal in 5 of the last 7 rounds. Watford has robust players like Deeney, Success, Deulofeu, or Pereyra (the goalie of Vicarage Road), and if the score is quick, there are good chances to witness a match with many goals. The hosts are missing Prodl, Kabasele and Andre Gray, while Burnley comes to London without Brady, Lennon and Bardsley, and Gudmundsson is uncertain. The Icelandic midfielder is also the top scorer of the guests, with 4 successes this season.

WATFORD – BURNLEY PROBABILE TEAMS:

Watford: Foster – Femenia, Mariappa, Cathcart, Holebas – Sema, Doucoure, Capoue, Pereyra – Deulofeu, Deeney

Burnley: Heaton – Bardsley, Tarkowski, Mee, Taylor – Gudmundsson, Westwood, Cork, McNeil – C. Wood, Barnes

PREDICTION: Watford to win @ 1.65
