In the 10th round of the Belgian championship, Sunday, October 7th, will be played Zulte Waregem – Anderlecht Brussels. The match will take place on “Regenboogstadion”, starting at 13:30. Lost in the impasse, the host team scored only two goals in the last six games.
Continuing the series of disappointing results, the hosts recorded a new defeat in the previous round after they succumbed to the move from Genk, score 0-4. Although in the first three stages they achieved five points, they entered a shadow of contention, recording not less than six consecutive defeats. The neuralgic point of the team is defensive, which yielded 22 times during this period! A start of the season more than disappointing for a band that was close to qualifying in the Europa League in the previous edition.
On the other side, guests are also unrecognizable. After being eliminated from the second division cup, Anderlecht drew on his own field with St.Truiden at the end of a game in which he played with an extra man for 75 minutes. Things did not stay better in the Europa League, where Anderlecht disappointed again on his own home, 0-2 with Dinamo Zagreb. Thus, with just one victory in the last eight games played in all competitions, it crosses one of the toughest moments in recent years. And that despite a perfect season start with four consecutive wins and not less than 13 goals scored.
In the last direct confrontation, disputed in March 2018, Anderlecht scored 3-2. It was the 9th success in the last 10 straight games. In seven of these tables there have been at least three changes.
