Waregem vs Anderlecht PREVIEW & PREDICTION 03/03/2018

WAREGEM VS ANDERLECHT PREVIEW & PREDICTION

Zulte Waregem receives in his last home match of the regular Anderlecht competition. The home team wants to finish in beauty and try to increase the number of places in the ranking. Anderlecht want to confirm his victory from the previous matchday.

Waregem :

For Zulte Waregem there was actually not much more at stake. It had been mathematically saved since the last day of play. A visit to the neighbors from Kortrijk remains a derby and Essevee always wants to win that. The honor, you know. With another visit from Anderlecht, it wants to give its supporters another reason to celebrate. Afterwards, some experiments can be done with a view to next season.

The derby against Kortrijk last weekend started out faintly. A difficult to play grass mat did not make it possible to bring smooth combinations. Both teams are however known for their beautiful football. Kortrijk got chances but the biggest chances were for Waregem. The match was decided a few minutes before the end of a foul in the penalty area.

“We knew how to get here,” said coach Francku Dury. “Now that we are saved, we look at what we can do in other field occupations. We are short of the top, but it is not so easy to get away from that fourteenth place. Just look at Lokeren and KV Mechelen. I did notice that the difference between the sixth and the eleventh is not so great. ‘

Anderlecht :

At Anderlecht there was a lot of pressure on the boiler. Over the past few weeks, everyone and everyone has been coping with a whole load of criticism. Last weekend it was the first game of the new owner and look, Anderlecht could win again after five games. Even though they have to be aware that not everything shortcomings are eliminated. A good result in the last two games of the regular season will be needed to start the playoffs with confidence.

Last weekend, Mouscron visited the Astridpark. Anderlecht were 4-0 against Mouscron after a hat-trick of his (reborn?) Polish top striker Lukasz Teodorczyk. But then the defense with Uros Spajic, Ivan Obradovic and Leander Dendoncker allowed itself to be three times childish: 4-3. Fortunately, the visiting goalkeeper helped in the final minutes to settle the fate of his team and in Brussels they breathed a deep sigh.

‘We made positional mistakes and gave away all control’, says trainer Hein Vanhaezebrouck. “As a coach, I wanted to sit out the game for once, but I still had to sweat it out.” Fortunately for Anderlecht, his Polish striker recovered the net. “I hope he has left for good now,” Vanhaezebrouck said. ‘This was what he needed, but he was also well supported. Teo was the exponent of our good attack game, in which Pieter Gerkens and Kenny Saief were also important. ‘
