Jose Mourinho’s students, who found morale by beating Leeds United 3-0, will face Championship team Brentford in this week’s League Cup semi-final. Tottenham defeated Stoke City 3-1 on the road in the previous round and became Brentford’s opponent in the semi-finals.

Brentford is one of the highlights of the Chamionship this season. They are in 4th place, 6 points behind leader Norwich City. Note that they haven’t lost the Championship for weeks. The match they were supposed to play with Bristol City last week was delayed due to covid measures. The previous week they passed Bournemouth with 2-1. Brentford, the only Championship team in the League Cup, managed to beat Newcastle United in the previous round and became Tottenham’s opponent in the semi-finals.
Tottenham is the favorite of the round and the match. I expect them to be the first finalists by beating Brentford.
