On Monday at 19:45 pm on “Stožice” in Ljubljana will take place the match between Slovenia and Israel, counting for the sixth round of Group G preliminary of the European 2020 Championship.
The two opponents are neighbors of the ranking being on the 3rd and 4th place with 8 points, the group being led by Poland which has 12 points, followed by Austria with 9 points. In the last two places in the group are North Macedonia with 5 points and Latvia with no points.
Slovenia approaches the duel with an iron morale after managing to win the match in the previous round with the group leader, Poland, scoring 2-0. With this victory, the Slovenians returned clearly in the qualifying fight, and the bookmakers give them the first chance in the duel with Israel, a formation that lost two huge points last stage, drawing on home soil with North Macedonia, score 1-1.
In the tour the duel was a balanced one, ending indecisively, 1-1. Slovenia opened the scoring in Haifa via Dinner in the 48th minute but the Israelis managed to restore the equality after only seven minutes of play through Zahavi, while also setting the final score of the match, 1-1.
This time, however, the draw is forbidden, victory being the watchword in the two lockers. The draw clearly disadvantages both Slovenia and Israel in the context where Northern Macedonia gains a logical victory in Latvia and Austria returns with points or points from Warsaw.
