SEVILLA VS REAL MADRID PREVIEW & PREDICTION

The struggle for European football is approaching her denouement in La Liga. In the make-up game against Real Madrid, Sevilla has to take at least one point in the Sanchez Pizjuan to take over the seventh place again, thereby gaining pole position in the battle for the very last ticket for the Europa League. The focus of the visitors from Madrid, however, is already at the Champions League final of 20 May.

Seville:

The anxiety sweat puts the Sevilla fans on their foreheads, because their favorite club is threatening to grab European football this season. With the current eighth place, the Andalusians would piss alongside the proverbial pot, so it is clear that the overtaking match against Real Madrid is extremely important.

Seville knows at least again what winning is, because after seven league matches without a win, thanks to a striking penalty from Ever Banega, 1-0 was won by Real Sociedad. With this, interim manager Joaquin Caparros immediately provided the desired shock effect. The experienced coach has to help Los Nerviones in European football in the final stages of the season, after Vincenzo Montella was given a watch a week and a half ago after an employment of barely four months. Against Real Sociedad we could at least see that the poison is back in the team, the passion with which the redwites reached the quarter finals of the Champions League and the final of the Copa del Rey. That’s a good thing too, because apart from the fierce battle for European football, the always-loaded city derby against Real Betis will be on the program next weekend. With Ever Banega, Luis Muriel, Franco Vazquez, Nolito and Sebastien Corchia there are no less than five players in yellow cards, but Caparros obviously does not have the luxury to spare them on Wednesday-evening.

Real Madrid:

Real Madrid pulled out all the stops in El Clasico on Sunday evening to show the football world not to have to compete for FC Barcelona. In the Camp Nou, the Madrilenians showed their mental resilience by battling back twice from a backlog and eventually dragging a 2-2 draw from the fire. From now on, however, the focus is entirely on the Champions League final of May 20 in Kiev, in which the Spaniards will take on Liverpool.

The expectation is that Zinedine Zidane will rotate on Wednesday evening and will largely appeal to players who did not or hardly took action against FC Barcelona last Sunday evening. Players like Toni Kroos, Luka Modric and Marcelo will most likely get a rest, while Cristiano Ronaldo will go away anyway. The Portuguese vedette got injured in making the 1-1, but will most likely get fit in time for the Champions League final. Against Sevilla, however, there is a good chance that lesser gods like Theo Hernandez, Achraf Hakimi and possibly Borja Mayoral may show their skills. Gareth Bale, who nicely scored the 2-2 in the Camp Nou, is suspended.

PREDICTION: Both teams to score / YES @ 1.35
