Sevilla vs Eibar PREVIEW & PREDICTION 06/07/2020

The game between Sevilla Club de Fútbol and Eibar is finished on Sunday evening in the scorching Seville, during the day the mercury rises to 41 degrees. Although it will have cooled down a bit around ten o’clock in the evening, the drinking breaks are still necessary. Can Eibar force something in the capital of Andalusia?

Sevilla:

Actually, Sevilla has been in the top since the first round and the results have remained stable for a long time. Without crazy peaks up or down, the Andalusians seemed to be heading straight for Champions League football, but after the resumption of the competition, the team of trainer Julen Lopetegui still had unnecessary problems. Since the return to the football field, the Blanquirrojos drew no less than four times and it was only in the last midweek round that the club could finally triumph again. Oliver Torres was the celebrated man in the game visiting Leganés with two goals in the first half, in the second act Munir El Haddadi finally closed the game: 0-3.

The victory over the low flyer was badly needed, after Atlético Madrid had already passed Seville in the rankings, Villarreal is now also very close. The difference with the number five in the rankings is still three points, but the Andalusians are still faced with a tough program. In the last four games, three teams from the left row are hit and so there must be at least a win against Eibar. Furthermore, the main absent this Monday is Jules Koundé, the central defender took his fifth yellow card of the season against Leganés and is suspended.

Eibar:

The shutdown of the competition due to the outbreak of the coronavirus suited Eibar very well, after a series of many bad results, the Basques used the rest period to get the noses back in the same direction. In the first five games since the resumption, only one loss was lost, so Los Armeros were able to do good business in the fight against relegation. The downside of the corona-stop is that the team did have to deal with expiring contracts, including star player and club top scorer Fabian Orellana has not been deployed since last round.

The lack of the most important player was immediately noticeable in the midweek match against Osasuna, the Basque formation lost 0-2 in-house. Defensive base force Gonzalo Escalante will also no longer come into action, so it promises to be another tough week for the team of José Luis Mendilibar. At the moment the club still has a large margin of six points vis-à-vis the relegation streak. Number eighteen Mallorca, however, has a better mutual result, as a result of which Eibar has to gather seven points in the last five games, starting from its own strength, to be sure of maintaining in La Liga.

PREDICTION: Sevilla to win @ 1,44
