Melbourne City vs Perth Glory PREVIEW & PREDICTION 03/03/2019

Very good, we are going with a new day in the A-League and this time we are going to Melbourne for the game that will face the City against Perth Glory. We go with the vicotria with a handicap for those of Popovic, because if we opt for a draw, the bet is not valid, the fee is somewhat lower.

The locals are fifth with 29 points, one more than Wellington which is the last team that marks the posts of Play Off, ahead have Adelaide with 31 and already far away to Victory with 38. Warren Joyce have 7 games left counting this, and some quite complicated like this and the next one in Sydney’s house.

A couple of weeks ago they reinforced the attack with the arrival of Jamie Maclaren from the Hibernian of Scotland, and Shayon Harrison from Tottenham, as they had to make up for the absence of Fornaroli due to his disagreements with the coach. All this fuss has made them the second team with the least goals in favor of the league with 24 goals, two more than Central Coast Mariners which is the last.

In favor they have that they are the third team that fits the least, only 23 goals for the 18 of Perth and the 22 of Sydney. Not another thing but the defensive City is a while, Warren Joyce prefers a 0-0 to finish 4-4, has already shown several times leaving on the bench players like Brattan or McGree on the bench and draw people to hold the midfield, and if I remember correctly that situation occurred in the previous match between the two.

Perth is leading with 47 points 8 more than Sydney so they have to do very badly to not finish first, with 43 goals in favor they are the team that scores the most in the competition, and with 18 as I said the one that receives the least .

The last match against WS Wanderers I could not see, but I saw the last one at home against Brisbane Roar in which he won 4-0. I must say that it was a marvel how Popovic’s team played that game, it is true that the opponent gave many facilities and the result could be more bulky but it is to see Diego Castro with the ball and see how they were unable to have even the opportunity to get closer .. Very good that day also Ikonomidis although he was a bit sucked in certain phases of the game because he wanted his goal, Keogh taking advantage of any loose ball in the area to plug it in, and I liked too the Davidson lane who also made the first of the match

As a visitor we might think that Perth lowers the level but it is not, of the 47 points he has, 26 are at home and 21 out, there is not a big difference as it can be in other cases. In 9 games they have scored 19 goals and they have only received 8, that speaks very well of their defensive system.

This season these two teams have met twice, the first in the field of Perth in which they won the premises 1-0 with Ikonomidis goal, and the second in Melbourne a little over a month ago in which the result was 0-0, that day the match was Keogh who missed two heads-up.

I think we will see a match very similar to that day, Perh with the ball and the City folded waiting for an eror on the ball to get out fast and hurt and more taking into account that those of Warren Joyce should be added to avoid problems to enter the Play Off, so it will be good for a draw at home against the leader. In that game Ikonomidis was not there because he was with Australia in the Asian Cup, so it can be a different factor with respect to that day.

PREDICTION: Over 2,5 goals @ 1,90
