MAINZ VS RB LEIPZIG PREVIEW & PREDICTION
On Sunday, both Mainz and Leipzig are concerned with keeping their individual season goals alive. While Mainz 05 wants to continue to play first-class, the RB Leipzig is fighting for a renewed participation in the Champions League. For both teams it does not look too rosy right now. Mainz are only on goal difference because of the better goal difference over the SC Freiburg Leipzig are missing four points to fourth place.
Mainz:
Mainz could not really increase his performance under the new coach Schwarz. Place 15 seems to be relatively justified at present, considering the last results but also the respective games for themselves.
On the last weekend they sang and soundless against Augsburg. There were no real opportunities and it burned too often. The weekend before, in turn, showed that Mainz can play football. There you defeat the SC Freiburg 2-0 in a very respectable way at home.
RB Leipzig:
The bulls have not been able to convince lately. 2: 5 against Hoffenheim, 1: 1 against Bremen, 2: 5 against Marseille and 1: 4 against Leverkusen were the last results.
Presumably Leipzig is running out of steam towards the end of the season. The very young squad of Leipzig is not used to having to play so many games at such a high level. Especially the high defeats against Leverkusen and Marseille should have missed the young troupe a small mental kink.
PREDICTION: Under 2.5 goals @ 2.00
