Lyon vs Marseille PREVIEW & PREDICTION 12/02/2020

Olympique Lyon and Olympique Marseille meet in the quarterfinals of the French Cup. The match will be played on Wednesday, from 20:05 pm, on Parc Olympique Lyonnais.

Rudi Garcia’s troupe comes to this duel after a series of three games in which he scored a single point. However, those from Lyon are undefeated on their own ground since December 2019, when they were defeated with a score of 1-0 by those from Rennes.

On the other side, Marseille crosses a remarkable form. OM is unbeaten in the last 16 matches played in all competitions, the period in which it obtained 12 victories during the regular time and one after the draws. Also, Andre Villas-Boas’s team has five wins in the last eight trips (zero defeats), in six of them managing to keep the gate intact.

-The two teams have met 114 times so far in all competitions (39 victories Lyon and 37 Marseille);
-100 matches were played in Ligue 1, where Lyon won 34 times and OM 28 times;
-The biggest difference in score was registered in 1997, when OL prevailed with the score of 8-0, on its own ground;
-The team at Parc Olympique Lyonnais won four of the last five straight duels;
-Lyon is unbeaten in the last 11 direct matches, disputed on its own ground;

Lyons: Tatarusanu – Tete, Denayer, Andersen, Marcal – Tousart, Lucas – Traore, Aouar, Ekambi – Dembele;
Absent: Memphis Depay, Jeff Reine-Adelaide, Youssouf Kone, Oumar Solet, Leo Dubois (injured);

Marseille: Mandanda – Sarr, Gonzalez, Caleta-Car, Amavi – Rongier, Kamara, Lopez – Radonjic, Germain, Payet;
Absent: Florian Thauvin (injured);

OM is in top form, while Lyon is not. It is the ideal time for Marseille to break the series of 11 games in a row without a win in Lyon. We count on the qualification of Andre Villas-Boas’s band.

PREDICTION: Both teams to score / YES @ 1,58
