Lithuania vs Romania PREVIEW & PREDICTION 11/10/2018

Thursday, at 19:45, Lithuania will receive the visit of Romania’s representative in a match for the third round of the League of Nations. The game will take place on the LFF stadionas in Vilnius.

We can make a multitude of variants of the Romanian national team in group 4 after the draws of “tricolori” in the first two rounds, with Montenegro (0-0) and Serbia (2-2). The idea is that, eventually, if Romania fulfills its mission against Lithuania and will get the three points, while Serbs and Montenegrins would mutually interfere, Romania, Montenegro and Serbia would be equal to points ) after the first three stages. Therefore, the situation is not currently a dramatic one for Cosmin Contra’s selection, as long as ours do not unnecessarily tangle on the field of a representative who has not shown anything at this moment in this League of Nations. Even if Lithuania has not lost to the score so far, it has been authoritatively dominated in both meetings, 0-1 with Serbia and 0-2 in Montenegro. Basically, the most important player in the batch is striker Fedor Chernykh, who is quoted at 1.50 million on transfermarkt.com, a player who evolves in the Russian championship at Dinamo Moscow, a team that currently occupies a relegable place.

The lot called for by Cosmin Contra for the matches with Lithuania (October 11th) and Serbia (October 14th):

Goalkeeper: Ciprian Tataruşanu (FC Nantes, 53/0), Costel Pantilimon (Nottingham Forest, 27/0), Florin Niţă (Sparta Praga, 2/0)

Defenders: Romario Benzar (FCSB, 13/0), Cristian Mănea (CFR Cluj, 4/1), Cristian Săpunaru (Kayserispor, 29/0), Alin Toşca (PAOK Thessaloniki, 13/0), Gabriel Tamas (Hapoel Haifa, 65/1), Ionuţ Nedelcearu (FC Ufa, 2/0), Nicuşor Bancu (U Craiova 1948 Club Sportiv, 5/0)

Intermediaries: Răzvan Marin (Standard Liege, 12/1), Tudor Băluţă (FC Viitorul, 1/0), Adrian Stoian (Crotone, 2/0), Paul Anton (Krylia Sovetov, 5/0), Alexandru Chipciu , 37/4), Dorin Rotariu (AZ Alkmaar, 7/1), Nicolae Stanciu (Sparta Prague, 24/9), Alexandru Maxim (Mainz, 30/2), Alexandru Mitriţă (U Craiova 1948 Club Sportiv, 5/0 ), Florin Tănase (FCSB, 3/0)

Attack: Claudiu Keşeru (Ludogoreţ, 25/6), George Ţucudean (CFR Cluj, 6/2), Denis Draguş (FC Viitorul, 1/0)

Given the circumstances of this game, we expect a solid evolution of “tricolor”. Even if Constantin Budescu’s absence tends to make the mission of Vilnius worse, we trust the united group created by Cosmin Contra, a far superior in value to the opponent of Thursday evening.
