Thursday, from 18:00, Lechia Gdansk receives Brondby’s visit to the first leg of the Preliminary Round 2 of the UEFA Europa League. The odds indicate a very balanced match, in which the Danes have their chance to win. After an excellent domestic season, the Nordic hopes for the European glory, but Lechia is a hard-to-beat team on their own.
Lechia started with the new season and defeated Piast Gliwce in the Supercup of Poland after the goals scored by Haraslin (2), Kubicki (’21) and Haraslin again (’47). For Piast, Sokolowski reduced the handicap in the 68th minute, too late to force the return. Generally, the white-green were master-run and their victory did not seem at any moment in doubt.
With maximum efficiency (3 goals out of 4 sutches on the goal), Lechia started off as the cannon season but then drew white to Lodz in the first round of the championship. Brondby confirmed the good shape of the last season and comes after two consecutive stages without defeat in Denmark: 3-0 with Silkeborg, home, 2-2 away from Randers. Brondby’s offensive performance is a good one, and we have reason to believe that guests will be on the move! It is the first direct duel in the history of the two clubs.
