In the sixth game round of the Kitchen Champion Division, Jong PSV and Jong AZ compete against each other. The two promising teams have not started the competition with great enthusiasm and hope on Friday for a good result on which they can continue to build.
Young PSV:
For Jong PSV, it is not the season start that the team had hoped for. The team of promises ended last season in a nice shared third place, but after a transfer summer with many temporary outgoing transfers, the team from Eindhoven managed to grab only one point during the first four games of the season and with this they are the last of the Kitchen Champion Division. Where the current band was scoring last season, Jong PSV has only managed to make it four times so far.
Many players who made minutes for PSV’s promising team last season will not do that (anymore) this season. Maximiliano Romero, Armando Obispo, Mauro Junior, Dante Rigo all left for rent to other clubs, while Zakaria Aboukhlal surprisingly made the switch to AZ. To provide the selection with new impulses, the talented Claudio Gomes and Cyril Ngonge from Manchester City and Club Brugge were hired just before the transfer deadline expired. After the 3-0 defeat at Jong FC Utrecht, Technical Manager John de Jong knew that quality had to be added to the selection.
Jong AZ:
Young AZ finished in 18th place during the 2018/2019 season. The team was actually in no man’s land at the end of the competition. There was a big gap to the bottom teams, but also with the broad average. The new season has only just begun, but it is good to see that the Alkmaarders suffered only one defeat during the first four league games of the season. At home three weeks ago, with minimal difference, title candidate Excelsior was lost.
Just before the international break, the AZ team of promises faced the poorly performing FC Dordrecht in front of their own audience. Richard Sedlacek opened the score fifteen minutes before time on behalf of the team of trainers Koen Stam and Michel Vonk and seemed to be the man of the match for a long time. Maxim Gullit came in in the 87th minute, but was not allowed to press again much later after two incorrect yellow cards. FC Dordrecht pushed Young AZ far back in their own sixteen in injury time and Fabian de Abreu finally headed the ball in the 93rd minute behind Young AZ keeper Rody de Boer.
PREDICTION: Jong PSV to win @ 1,81
