A double round of play is scheduled in the Kitchen Champion Division in the first week of April. All twenty teams will play on Monday-evening. Among others, Young Ajax receives the SC Cambuur from Réne Hake at De Toekomst.
Young Ajax:
Young Ajax made a free fall in the ranking in the Kitchen Champion Division in recent weeks thanks to lesser results. Whereas in the first half of the season the team from Amsterdam was all or nothing and only once scored, the team did this six times after the winter break. The subtop is enormously wide this season, so after the 2-1 win in De Goffert at NEC last Friday, the team of promises again climbed from twelfth to eighth place. Young Ajax is not allowed to participate in the follow-up competition because of the rules, but trainer Michael Reisjes will want to finish as high as possible.
The meeting with the people from Nijmegen was all in all a bizarre competition. The game was stopped for a few minutes after the NEC supporters threw a few items onto the field and gave chants to referee Christian Mulder. A red card from Joey van den Berg in the 64th minute was a serious setback for the home team. Lassina Traoré also gave Young Ajax the win one minute before the end. It was the first victory since 22 February. Most points are scored in front of the home crowd, so the team of promises has already been four home games in a row without defeat.
Cambuur:
SC Cambuur currently occupies twelfth place in the Kitchen Champion Division. In order to ultimately achieve the play-offs, it must achieve good results in the coming weeks, in particular against other competitors from the broad sub-top. It was recently announced that trainer René Hake will be leaving at the end of the season. The road seemed clear for a return of Henk de Jong, who is currently working on his final months at De Graafschap. Just over a week ago, the board announced that it had come to an agreement with the 54-year-old Frisian.
Cambuur performed sadly to the winter break, to say the least, but surprisingly the results did come when the back was against the wall. The Leeuwarders kept in touch with the broad subtop through three victories in a row, but last Friday the small victory series ended. It was Kenneth Aninkora who gave Almere City the full booty after more than half an hour of playing with a nice marker. Two weeks ago, Cambuur still managed to win against Young PSV in front of its own audience. It was the first home victory since November 2 (!), But this did not make it possible for René Hake’s team to continue against Almere City.
PREDICTION: Jong Ajax to win @ 1,50
