Hamburger SV vs Regensburg PREVIEW & PREDICTION 23/09/2018

The Hamburg sports club has finally found its way into the track after the opening defeat and has become the dominator of the second Bundesliga. On Sunday (23.09.2018) receives the second division newcomer to the Regensburg, which in turn were passed after a first-round victory in the table cellar. While it is for the HSV so the next step in the direction of promotion, Regensburg urgently needs points, so as not to lose the connection to the midfield.

HSV:

Since the first descent of the HSV from the highest German league a lot has happened around the Volksparkstadion. Already in preparation for the new season, it has been suggested that the coach coached by head coach Christian Tietz has a say in the fight for the direct resurgence. Thus, in addition to CSKA Moscow (1-0), Rapid Vienna (2-1) and Stoke City (2-1) in the dress rehearsal also the French runner-up AS Monaco was beaten 3-0.

All the more surprising then came the clear 0-3 defeat in the opening game against Holstein Kiel. Whatever went wrong in this game, Christian Tietz was able to work up, because then the North Germans were able to win most of the five competitive matches. So in the DFB Pokal TuS Erndtebrück in a turbulent match with 5: 3 and in the 2nd Bundesliga SV Sandhausen (3: 0), Arminia Bielefeld (3: 0), 1 FC Heidenheim (3: 2) and Dynamo Dresden (1-0) will be beaten during the week in the catch-up game. In all games won the HSV dominated the game, worked out a variety of opportunities and ultimately won this completely deserved. With a record of four wins and a defeat, a goal difference of 10: 5 and twelve points, the Bundesliga relegated now also raised head on the first place in the 2nd Bundesliga. A fixture in the ‘new’ HSV seems to be returnee Pierre Lasogga, who has come into the spotlight with five goals to date – a brace against Bielefeld and a flawless hat-trick against Heidenheim within nine minutes.

Regensburg:

Jahn Regensburg was in the 2nd Bundesliga certainly one of the surprise teams of the last season. After the direct march from the regional league to the second highest German league, last year was the long jump of the top three possible. The Elf Achim Beierlorzer but missed the promotion relegation in fifth, but still drove a considerable result and went accordingly ambitious in the new season. The preparation was initially largely positive, however, were the opponents – as 1. FC Schweinfurt (3: 2), SV Wehen Wiesbaden (1: 4), FSV Zwickau (1: 0) and SpVgg Unterhaching (1: 0) – of a completely different format like that of the upcoming opponents.

With a 2-1 win against FC Ingolstadt Jahn then also celebrated a debut to measure. Of the subsequent five competitive games but then no more could be won. After the defeat against SC Paderborn (0: 2), the Regensburger conceded in the DFB Cup an embarrassing defeat against Oberliga Chemistry Leipzig (1: 2). The reparation against Holstein Kiel did not quite succeed, at least for a goalless draw and one point was enough. In the game at Arminia Bielefeld, both teams delivered a spectacular and goal-rich duel on equal terms for a long time, but the better end was the opponent (3: 5). Against Dynamo Dresden should on the penultimate friday then a clear victory ago, from which but again was nothing (0: 2). With a clearly negative balance of three defeats, a draw and a win, a goal difference of 5:10 and only four points, the SSV Jahn Regensburg is after the fifth matchday in fifteenth place and it is to be feared that the Beierlorzer-Eleven on Sunday at least for the time being. So even bets on the away win with odds of up to 6.1 are probably only for optimists.
