GETAFE VS BETIS PREVIEW & PREDICTION

On Monday night Getafe takes on in-house against Real Betis. A crucial duel in the fight for European football!

Getafe:

With no less than 39 points from 29 rounds, PhD student Getafe is in fact now almost certain of life retention, although the people of Madrid are still not satisfied. “We want to break the limit of forty points. That was our goal at the start of the season, ‘says trainer Jose Bordalas. Defender Damian Suarez: “As long as we continue to take a chance on European football, we will go for it.” Getafe in the Europa League sounds pretty absurd, but with a victory over Real Betis, the blue shirts would narrow the gap with number seven Girona to only two points.

The strong season of Getafe is mainly due to the results in its own Coliseum, where Los Azulones only lost a league game since November last year. Especially the defense is like a house, because in seven of the last nine home duels in La Liga knew the Madrilenians to keep the zero. At the front the attack duo Jorge Molina and Angel Rodriguez are always threatening. In the midfield, however, Bordalas has to do some puzzling this weekend. Mauro Arambarri is sidelined for at least a month, while Markel Bergara will probably have to go missing as well. The chances are that the 38-year-old Sergio Mora will be re-enlisted for his sixth place in the season. In any case, the home team will be motivated to the brunt, because in the final round of the 2015-2016 season, the Madrid players lost 2-1 to Real Betis, meaning they relegated to the Segunda Division. So the blue shirts still have an apple to peel with the upcoming opponent.

Real Betis:

Real Betis could well be the big winner of the 30th round of play. The Andalusians saw last Saturday’s direct competitors Girona and Sevilla play against Levante (1-1) and FC Barcelona (2-2) respectively, so they can take the sixth place in a victory over Getafe. In particular, the possible trumping of Seville would be a great boost, because it has been thirteen years since the green-wits were at this stage of the competition above their fellow cityman annex arch rival. So no lack of motivation.

To be honest, I would give Real Betis a chance to win over Seville and go into Europe. Trainer Quique Setien last year let Las Palmas play football in the first half of the season and now the same thing happens to the Andalusians. The green-greens always play well-behaved and offensive football and Setien is not afraid to throw their own youth players for the lions. Players like Loren Moron, Junior Firpo and Francis Guerrero recently experienced their breakthrough and are nowhere in the starting line-up, while goalkeeper Antonio Adan, the Mexican Andres Guardado and club icon Joaquin provide the necessary experience. This team works well together, as we recently saw against Espanyol (3-0 win) and Alaves (1-3 win).
