G.A. Eagles vs Telstar PREVIEW & PREDICTION 01/04/2019

Go Ahead Eagles and Telstar meet in the 32nd round of the Kitchen Champion Division. Go Ahead Eagles is in third place, but drops a lot of stitches. On the other hand, we have Telstar that is having a bad season, but has not lost the last five games. An excellent performance for Telstar, but the bookmakers see this series coming to an end on Monday evening.

Go Ahead Eagles:

Unfortunately for football loving Deventer, the champion dream seems out of sight. It is fifteen points behind FC Twente and second place is the highest attainable. Go Ahead Eagles owes that to itself. It is fairly rare for the club to play two good halves. Every game seems the same story again. One half good and the other half dramatic. The John Stegeman team is looking for promotion. This is not strange, because Go Ahead Eagles has quite a few players who can probably handle the level of the Eredivisie. Jaroslav Navratil is an excellent winger with flair, while Thomas Verheydt, Jeff Stans and Jeroen Veldmate are also Eredivisiewaard. The last two will be suspended for a yellow card on Monday evening due to five yellow cards. That also applies to defender Gino Bosz.

“Three points, mission successful,” said coach Stegeman after the match against FC Dordrecht. There is no spell in between, but it was a sad game from both sides. The level was sad and there were many mistakes in the defensive work, but also in creating opportunities. Still, after 92 minutes of play, Go Ahead Eagles scored 3-1 on the scoreboard. This was more due to the poor performance of FC Dordrecht, because the club from Deventer did not earn three points based on the second half.

Telstar:

Telstar has a bad season. It is already twelve rounds in sixteenth place. It seemed that nobody could change that, because it was, as it were, in no man’s land on the rankings. Telstar nevertheless managed to find the connection upwards. It won four rounds in previous rounds and the final round was played a draw. Because of this the club from Velsen-Zuid is now number 15 and if they continue this line it can still climb a few places on the rankings. Putting places on the ranking list will probably not happen again. After the victory series the hole with number 17 FC Dordrecht is no less than thirteen points. Admittedly, it was also not the most difficult program for the white lions. The club had to play against Young FC Utrecht, Young AZ, FC Dordrecht and FC Den Bosch. Telstar won all four games, but only FC Den Bosch really was a fascinating pot and a great result. The remaining three games became 1-0 for Telstar and were all three clubs that were even lower in the rankings.

Telstar could set a brilliant series if they also won against FC Eindhoven. This did not happen. It became a 1-1 draw in a reasonable match. After a moderate first half, Telstar fought like lions in the second half, thus fulfilling their nickname. The goalkeeper of the opponent managed to prevent a goal every time and saved a point. Telstar seems warmed up.
