FC EMMEN VS DORDRECHT PREVIEW & PREDICTION
FC Emmen lost only four times this season, but will still have to make progress to really get a chance to promote to the Eredivisie. A victory over FC Dordrecht could give the self-confidence a new boost.
FC Emmen:
FC Emmen has shared the points with the opponent fifteen times this season and that is also the point that needs to be worked on. As said before, the team of coach Dick Lukkien lost four times and with that the club is largely in first place in terms of least defeats, but the high number of draws has ensured that the title never really came into view. FC Emmen is going to place himself easily for the play-offs, but during those decision-making games there really will have to be won to eliminate opponents. The shape has not been very impressive in recent weeks. The formation from Drenthe only turned one of the last six games into a victory and that is a bit on the thin side. In favor of FC Emmen speaks again that the last eleven duels only a defeat.
Recently, FC Emmen still won 2-3 at FC Oss, but from the last two games, the men of Lukkien got only two points. Especially the 0-0 draw against Helmond Sport was disappointing. That home game offered FC Emmen a good chance to take the three points, but it did not come that far. Last week FC Emmen shared the points with Almere City and that was not a bad result given the weak start of the visitors. Almere City gave a 2-0 lead to its own audience within nineteen minutes, but then did not continue. This allowed FC Emmen to fight back into the game. Mario Bilate narrowed the margin on the board to a goal and Damon Mirani’s own goal then drew the score again.
Lukkien will have to work on his formation on Friday evening. Glenn Bijl is not available because of a suspension and Stef Gronsveld and Anco Jansen are suffering minor injuries. This will give Gersom Klok, Michael Chacon and Youri Loen the chance to show their qualities from the first minute.
FC Dordrecht:
The story of FC Dordrecht started this season desolate, but later it had an unexpectedly beautiful ending. The men of trainer Gerard de Nooijer were reborn from the winter break and booked one victory after another. The South Hollanders peaked at the right time and that gave the club the third period title. The hole with the left-hand row was closed and the ticket for the play-offs was already won and so it can be said that the season for the formation of De Nooijer has already been successful. After winning the period title, FC Dordrecht let the reins celebrate. On visiting FC Den Bosch there was no chance with 4-1 lost and last week FC Dordrecht once again came to the short end in the home game against Go Ahead Eagles, a somewhat unfortunate result.
The Eagles quickly reached a 0-1 lead in Dordrecht with a goal by Jeff Stans and after that hit it went on for a long time. Denis Mahmudov recovered the balance on the scoreboard by the end of the game, but that turned out not to be enough to prevent the loss. The visitors from Deventer turned on again and in the end it was Xandro Schenk who won the three points for the Eagles with his goal in the 87th minute. FC Dordrecht will now have to regain the shape of a few weeks ago to enter the last weeks of the season with a good feeling.
For De Nooijer this week it is nice that he can have Gustavo Hamer again. The captain of the Sheep Heads in recent months on his performance and that had as a result that he last week in the selection of Orange Under 20 could report. Because of this, he missed the match against Go Ahead Eagles. This week he is back again and he is expected to kick off.
PREDICTION: FC Emmen to win @ 1.52
