Everton vs Burnley PREVIEW & PREDICTION 03/05/2019

Nine-time English champions Everton Football Club (9th, 50 points) open the 37th and penultimate round of the season (live on Sky Sports England and Dazn) on Friday night against Burnley (15th, 40 points). At the same time, it will be the last Friday of the 2018/19 Premier League season. Sporting is relatively little for both clubs in the remaining two games. While the Clarets have already secured their league status and will play the forth Premier League season in succession next season, Everton still has theoretical chances to seventh. This seat could qualify for the Europa League qualifier in the final betting as Manchester City wins the FA Cup against Watford at the end of the month. Financially, there is still an incentive, because the higher the clubs in the table complete, the more money will be transferred to the club account at the end of the season.

None of the nine Premier League meetings between the Toffees and the Clarets ended in a draw (five victories Everton, four Burnley victories). Again, at Everton against Burnley, our prediction for a hint of victory for the home team coached by Marco Silva and that both teams will meet. Both teams have been in good form lately, with Everton winning over the top teams Arsenal, Chelsea and Man United, especially at home. One reason why Everton vs.. Burnley’s bookmakers’ odds make homecoming more likely.

Everton:

Everton is in the duel with Burnley on Friday night (4-1-1) with four wins from the recent six Premier League games. Thus, the Toffees drove as many victories as in the 17 league games before. Everton did not concede in seven of the past nine Premier League matches and finished off the final four at Goodison Park. Last time Everton completed five home games without conceding between March and September 2013 (seven “clean sheets”). In the first 27 games of the season, there were only six to-zero matches. While coach Marco Silva was in the meantime badly criticized, in the past few weeks he seems to have finally clicked his team. The team has gradually adapted the football that Silva wants to play. Especially at home, there were some outstanding achievements such as the victories over Chelsea, Arsenal and Man United, with which the Toffees won for the first time since March 2012 three times in a row at home against established top six teams. With a notable 0-0 draw against Liverpool, the Toffees have been defeated by top teams in their last five matches and have been undefeated at Goodison for four rounds.

However, in foreign lands, the “Silva-Mania” rekindled in Goodison Park is still limited. The only defeat in the last six games Everton conceded in relegated Fulham (0: 2). Last week, Crystal Palace’s second-worst home team were only able to draw 0-0, despite Everton’s 22-shot record, the most in an away game since May 2017 (at Arsenal). After all, the point mark from the past season was exceeded with the draw (at that time 49 counters). With strong performances at home, Everton against Crystal Palace is also the favorite for a win, according to bookmakers and our forecast. Everton lost each of the last eight games in which the Toffees caught the first goal of the game. Last time after the first goal the Toffees could win in December in Burnley. Striker Richarlison has met 13 times in the Premier League so far. Only Roberto Firmino (15 goals, 2017/18) and Robinho (14 goals in 2008/09) were even more successful as Brazilians in one season. Between Everton and Burnley is our tip “BTS & Victory Everton”. André Gomes is missing for the last time suspended. Yerry Mina is down.

Burnley:

Much was missing last Sunday against holders Manchester City to surprise. In the end, the Clarets still had to beat 0: 1. Burnley tried to get a point with an extremely defensive approach and made only two shots in total. Never before did the Clarets score fewer goals in a Premier League match. However, this does not change the strong performance in the calendar year 2019, where Burnley was able to score the fifth-most points so far (25 points). Burnley has lost just five of the past 17 Premier League games (9-4-5). The month of May, however, is not one of the favorite months of the Clarets, because the last four Premier League games in May were all lost and Burnley conceded eleven goals. The last victory at this time of the year was in 2015 against Aston Villa (1-0). Away Burnley has played only once in the past eleven Premier League matches to zero. In January, there was a 0-0 in Watford.

That is another reason why the bookmakers at Everton – Burnley tend to tend to win the Toffees at home with their odds. Although Clarets coach Sean Dyche won more games in the Premier League against Bournemouth (four) than against Everton (three), a home win for the Toffees seems realistic to us. Therefore, at Everton against Burnley our prediction recommends a bet on “BTS & Everton Victory”. The Clarets have scored at least one goal in seven of the past nine Premier League away games and have been unbeaten in two out-of-home games (1-1-0). One and a half weeks ago, Burnley Chelsea defied a 2-2. Ashley Barnes, who scored six goals in his most recent six away appearances, was also among the scorers after the 29-year-old failed to score in the first eight away games of the season. Steven Defour is injured. Aaron Lennon, Peter Crouch and Phil Bardsley are in doubt.
