Both Eupen and Charleroi started the first matchday with a defeat. Will it be possible for one of them to wash away the defeat with a victory or will both teams stick to a draw?
KAS Eupen:
After a very good preparation Eupen got the hardest move. So it had to compete against the champion last season, against the team that barely lost once in the same season, especially Club Brugge. The confidence in a good result was there with the troops of Makélélé although they also knew that it was a very difficult task.
Club started scorching immediately and was able to take the lead through Wesley Moraes after just six minutes of play. Eupen surprisingly got the ball from the home team afterwards but could not do much with it. On the half of the first half, Club got a penalty that was unerringly transposed by the other striker, Jelle Vossen. Less than a minute later, or there was Wesley again to make it 3-0, which also became the halftime. The game was already played and there was still a half to go. Vossen scored twice more to complete his hat-trick and Eupen, which brought the final score to a 5-2.
In the second half, Eupen was actually the better team although Club could look back on a big lead that made it less sharp. The red card for Mulumba just before the end of the game throws a spanner in Eust because so many players are not there to replace that position. It is clear that there is still some work for the team, although that is logical after a long break plus a lot of new players.
Sporting Charleroi:
Charleroi is currently pulling the line where it ended last season. From very high to a permanently declining line. In the preparation it was not running smoothly and last week it got Antwerp on the floor, team where it always has a hard time. That was no different this time …
Antwerp, which mainly came up with very defensive football, managed to get ahead after a quarter of an hour via Yatabare; 0-1. That was the signal for Antwerp to camp even more for purpose and give away as few opportunities as possible. It has to be said, a tactic that works because Charleroi saw no possibilities or solution to get through the ‘wall’. To hopeless attempts of about thirty meters or bad crosses it did not come through so the match eventually also stuck at 0-1.
A painful defeat for Charleroi in which painful points were immediately exposed and again, as in previous years, it is labeled as a counter-team just while Mazzu absolutely wants to avoid it and verbally verbal afreageerde. Unfortunately for him it is no different because if they have to make the game themselves it is difficult, especially if some players have made an outgoing transfer and their goalgetter Perbet can not get useless balls.
PREDICTION: Both teams to score / YES @ 1.72
