In round two of the Kitchen Champion Division there is a poster on the program between two teams that did not get off the starting blocks as desired. Logically FC Den Bosch spilled points against De Graafschap, but a point against GAE was quite nice for FC Dordrecht. How are these teams doing on Sunday afternoon?
FC Den Bosch:
After a particularly poor preparation and a lot of outgoing transfers, the season got off to a difficult start for Erik van der Ven. Before the start of the season, his selection lost from Almere City and the amateurs from TEC. In the dress rehearsal against Young AZ, his team got no further than a draw. Not surprising, because there was a considerable amount of emptying from De Vliert Stadium. Danny Verbeek, Luuk Brouwers, Alexander Laukart, Oussama Bouyaghlafen, Pedro Maques, Leon Bergsma and Stefan Velkov are just a few of the names who have left. What then came in return? Eight youth players, Dwayne Green from FC Dordrecht and Don Bolsius from Kozak Boys. Purely based on the player names and their experience, Van der Ven seems to have deteriorated significantly. That is why the management aimed its arrows at Helmond Sport striker Jordy Thomassen. However, the club did not want to cooperate and so FC Den Bosch went looking for another player. They ended up with the Belgian youth international Adrien Bongiovanni. The 20-year-old AS Monaco player is hired after his less successful rental period at Cercle Brugge. He can play left winger, right winger, striker and number ten. An extra reinforcement did not seem a superfluous luxury, especially given the current infirmary in ‘s-Hertogenbosch. However, Bongiovanni cannot connect yet and will only be able to make minutes against NAC Breda.
Last week FC Den Bosch opened its new KKD season with a defeat. A calculated defeat, however, against title candidate De Graafschap. Yet it was FC Den Bosch that was in control on the Vijverberg in the first half. Van der Ven’s team left its chances unused, while in the injury time of the first half De Graafschap was effective enough to score the opening goal. Julian Lelieveld then scored an own goal on his debut for De Graafschap, which meant that the Superboeren had to go back to it. When the opponent started, there was mainly a defensive FC Den Bosch to see that hardly created anything. The score increased to 4-2.
FC Dordrecht:
De Schapenkoppen have also undergone a major transformation this summer. It resulted in somewhat comical images when the supporters for the opening match against Go Ahead Eagles were questioned. When a FOX Sports journalist asked the supporters if they were confident, the answer was pretty clear. “I don’t know any of them (new acquisitions ed.), But I have faith in them. After a not too great preparation with lost games against Cambuur and the amateurs of ASWH, it seemed to be another difficult season. Harry van den Ham has now been in the lead from the start of the season and his words didn’t sound like he had much confidence in it himself.
In retrospect, that was perhaps a bit too premature, because despite the fact that football was absolutely not to watch, a point was still taken against Go Ahead Eagles. The visitors took the initiative for ninety minutes. The people from Deventer shot fifteen times, but each time it was not easy and Dordrecht goalkeeper Anthony Swolfs was always in the way. Julius Bliek – who switched from GAE to FC Dordrecht – had a good debut against his former employer. His new team kept a clean sheet, but so did his old team. The game ended in a goalless draw.
PREDICTION: Den Bosch to win @ 1,75
