On Monday afternoon, at 16:00, the national youth of the Czech Republic has a match with the U21 team of Moldova in the Euro 2019 preliminaries. Romania U21 has largely secured its presence at the final tournament, while the Czech national team disappointed in these qualifications.
In qualifying group 1, the Czech Republic is only 4th, with a score of 4-1-1 and a goal of 13-15. Although the Czechs usually excel at this age level, the current generation with players in the domestic league has failed to keep pace with its rivals. The best teams in the group are Croatia U21 and Greece U21, both with 22 points, one round before the finals. The Czech Republic plays only for the pride, because it has no chance even at the dam, despite having players in Genoa (Zima), Mouscron (Simic), Udinese (Barak and Travnik), Ajax Amsterdam (Cerny) or Sampdoria (Schick).
If the Czechs have four wins in the group, Moldova is on the 5th place and has won two matches so far with San Marino. Moldovans have 8-22 goals and can not go higher than fourth, but it was hard to believe that our neighbors will get involved in the fight for qualification. Moldova comes after a positive series, but it lost only one match in the last 5! We have witnessed victories with Armenia (1-0) and San Marino (1-0), but also with Belarus (2-2) and Latvia (1-1).
It was 3-1 in the tour, for the Czech Republic, in Chisinau.
On the other side, the Czech Republic hoped to reach the final tournament, but lost the last two duels in the preliminaries, against the top teams in the group: 0-1 in the Belarusian move and 1-2 in the home, with Greece. Before these two failures, the Czech national team had impressed victories with Austria U21, 3-2 and 3-0, but also in the home matches against Croatia (2-1) and San Marino (3-1).
In the tour, in Chisinau, the Czech Republic U21 was forced 3-1, thanks to the goals of Provod (15), Baco (59) and Knejzlik (71). Moldova managed to open the score through Macritchii (11) and the guests also missed a penalty, in the 82nd minute, through Mihalik. The difference in value is incontestable in this duel and the gaps should not be a problem.
PREDICTION: Over 2.5 goals @ 1.50
