Beerschot is allowed to descend to the Jan Breydel Stadium with a six out of six to give champion Club Brugge a match. Will the home team continue last weekend’s performance? Or do the visitors stunt?
Club Brugge:
In the first two matches, the cup final against Antwerp and the competition opener against Charleroi, Krépin Diatta was invisible. The Senegalese missed a lot of preparation due to injuries and could not hide a lack of match rhythm. In Eupen, all Diatta’s self-awareness was justified. He often made himself playable and was a constant threat. With his two goals, he also proved to have the necessary killer instinct. The lack of statistics is what is often blamed on him and what sets him apart from his great role model, Sadio Mane.
The head is off for Youssoph Badji. The 18-year-old striker of Club Brugge scored his first of the season against Eupen and may therefore have left. He is bigger and scores easier than Loïs Openda. Badji had to adjust last season, but Club did well to protect him. He is a diamond in the rough, but is fast and strong. He has everything to become Club’s future striker. There is no lack of interest in him. One of his estate agents reports interest from Germany, Spain and England.
Philippe Clement was already looking forward to Sunday. The Club trainer receives his ex-club Beerschot. “Regardless of the fact that it is at the top, that game is always a winner for me,” said Clement. “It will be a duel between two clubs with strong, positive supporters. Unfortunately, that is in an empty Jan Breydel. We already practiced against Beerschot once and they played like a log. It was difficult to disrupt. That won’t be any different on Sunday. And in such a case, the team that has to make the game is at a disadvantage because there is no audience. ”
Beerschot:
Hernan Losada and co. started the season with a perfect report. After the flattered victory over Ostend, Raphael Holzhauser conducted a strong Beerschot with clear figures past Zulte Waregem. Two goals and an assist: the Austrian makes a name for himself in 1A very quickly. On the opening matchday in Ostend he served Noubissi the winning goal, on Sunday Holzi shifted up a gear before Essevee arrived. The number eight had a foot in almost every offensive action by the home team.
“Whether this was my best match for Beerschot? That’s a good question, but it’s not important to me whether I score or give assists. As long as the team takes points. “They will not mourn it on the Kiel. “That six out of six is perfect,” Holzhauser realizes. “In the coming weeks we will take on a number of stronger opponents (respectively Club Brugge, Standard, Racing Genk and Charleroi), so it was very important to get points now.”
If Holzhauser continues to perform like this, he may soon be able to dream of the Austrian national team. It was one of the ambitions he expressed a year ago when he signed on the Kiel. Holzi will not be rushed by it. “Of course every player dreams of that, but all I can do is keep working hard. Don’t look back too much and think about the future. Although the press in Austria will follow me. ”
PREDICTION: Club Brugge KV to win @ 1,32
