Burnley vs Wolves PREVIEW & PREDICTION 15/07/2020

On Wednesday, at 18:00, Burnley receives the visit of Wolverhampton, in the 36th round of the Premier League. It’s the end of the season and both teams are fighting hard for a place in the Europa League, so the duel on Turf Moor has an important stake. The hosts will not play Barnes, Cork, Lowton and Mee, while Nuno Santo has uncertainties about Neto and Adama Traore.

Wolverhampton is in 6th place (48-37 goal difference) and has no hopes for the Champions League places, after losing two of the last three stages. With 55 points, the “wolves” are in pole position for the Europa League and reap the rewards of a solid midfield game and good defensive organization. Burnley is in 10th place (goal difference 39-47) and has 50 points, four behind Sheffield United, the team in 7th place.

With a long series of invincibility, Sean Dyche’s team impressed last season, when they got a draw on Liverpool’s field (1-1), being the first team to get points at Anfield this season. In fact, Burnley could even win, having a great opportunity to score in the last minutes! In the final stages, Burnley beat Watford, Crystal Palace and West Ham 1-0, drawing 1-1 with Sheffield United and Liverpool. Wolves comes after a home win over Everton (3-0), which followed failures at zero with Arsenal (0-2) and Sheffield Utd. (0-1).

In the tour, on Molineux, Burnley got a 1-1 draw, after Ashley Barnes opened the score for Sean Dyche’s team. In the 90 + 7 minute, Raul Jimenez “snatched” a point for the hosts, with a penalty converted in the last phase. Statistics recommend betting on few goals, because both defenses are very solid and offer few chances to score to rivals.
