Brighton vs Aston Villa PREVIEW & PREDICTION 25/09/2019

On Wednesday, from 19:45 pm, Brighton receives the visit of Aston Villa in the knockout phase of the English League Cup. With more thought to the relegation fight in the Premier League, the two teams could line up more reserves for the match at AmEx Stadium.

Without Balogun, Izqueirdo, Jahanbaksh, Trossard, Bernardo and Schelotto, the hosts seem to be a bit more concerned about competition compared to Aston Villa, which has no goal there. Without Chester and Kodija, Villa will send an experimental team in the duel with the “fishermen”. The two teams lack favorable results at the start of the championship.

Brighton comes after two consecutive draws, 1-1 with Burnley and 0-0 at Newcatle, after no-call failures with Southampton (0-2) and Manchester City (0-4). On the other hand, Villa lost the matches with Crystal Palace (0-1) and Arsenal (2-3), managing a single draw last month: 0-0 with West Ham. The game with Arsenal was a frustrating one for the boys of Dean Smith, who received a goal at the end of the match, although they played for a long time in numerical superiority.

The last two straight matches between Brighton and Villa took place in the 2016/2017 Championship season, when the fans attended two draws 1-1. In all the three direct parties so far have marked both formations, a result that we can expect again. Brighton is 6th in the Premier League (5-8), and Aston Villa is 18th (goalscoring 6-9).
