BESIKTAS VS GENCLERBIRLIGI PREVIEW & PREDICTION
Besiktas has done good business in the title fight by winning two very important matches. On Saturday they will visit Genclerbirligi. The team from Ankara lost again last week after ten games. Will they go down again in Istanbul?
Besiktas:
Besiktas went hard against Bayern Munchen, the Black eagles are almost eliminated in the Champions League. Many fans see this elimination as something positive, because now Besiktas can fully focus on the prices in Turkey. Besiktas has the strongest position in Turkey, but in terms of performance they were a bit disappointing. There now seems to be a change.
Besiktas can now fully focus on the prices in Turkey and this immediately works out well for them. First they won the city derby against Fenerbahce convincingly with 3-1 and then they won 2-0 against Trabzonspor. Although it was not their best game, Besiktas certainly played well. They had the game under control and gave away few chances. It did have trouble with creating goal attempts. Vagner Love and Jeremain Lens were responsible for this. Both players played badly. It was only after Alvaro Negredo entered the field that Besiktas began to create many opportunities. Negredo also gave two assist to Ryan Babel.
Coach Senol Gunes was pleased with the victory: “Trabzonspor out always remains difficult. Sometimes you have to be cold-blooded and patient. We have done a good job ‘Besiktas will face Bayern Munchen again next Wednesday. Normally Senol Gunes would go for a b-team to give his basic players some rest. Given the result in the first game, I do not expect this now.
Genclerbirligi:
Genclerbirligi had a bad season and was a long time last week. They started the season with coach Umit Ozat, but soon replaced him with coach Mesut Bakkal. Also under Bakkal was not good and the board decided to re-appoint Umit Ozat as a coach. It’s all much better now under Ozat. With 26 points they are just above the relegation zone. Under Ozat, Genclerbirligi lost his first game, but then managed to keep ten games unbeaten. That came to an end last week, because for their own audience they lost 1-0 to Alanyaspor. There were a number of unexpected changes in the setup.
This is a heavy defeat, because Alanyaspor is a direct competitor in the fight against relegation. The hole with the degradation zone is now only five points. The game of Genclerbirligi was disappointing. They themselves did not manage to create too many opportunities, while there were some holes in the back.
Coach Umit Ozat was not satisfied with his players: ‘In my two years at Genclerbirligi this was my worst race. We just played too bad and a lot of players added little to the game. I would have preferred that we had lost Basaksehir the previous week and won this, because this was an important match in the fight against relegation. ‘
PREDICTION: Over 2.5 goals @ 1.52
