Belenenses vs Sporting PREVIEW & PREDICTION 26/06/2020

Sporting Lisbon climbs up the rankings and has won good business and number three in the rankings last round. However, the gap between the top -2, FC Porto and Benfica, is too big to challenge. To maintain third place, Belenenses will have to be defeated Friday evening.

Belenenses:

In 2013, Belenenses became champion in the second division and promoted to the Liga NOS. In 2015, it even finished in sixth place, which qualified for the Europa League. In the following years it weakened somewhat, but there were actually no relegation concerns for seasons. Everything is different this season. The difference between the left row and the relegation spots is only seven points, so the season has now entered a phase where each point can be important. Gil Vicente, Vitória Setúbal, Belenenses, Tondela and Marítimo can look down with fear.

Belenenses had a very strong series and even remained unbeaten for six games. Last week, however, was lost again in an important cracker at the bottom of Paços de Ferreira. Defender Thibang Phete scored in his own goal in the absolute final phase of the match. A huge hit for Petit’s team.

Sporting:

Wonder trainer Ruben Amorim started his trainer career at Braga in January. He started the season with Braga, where he immediately impressed. With his Arsenalists he beat FC Porto, Sporting and Benfica, among other things, and as a result he climbed from place ten to third place. The invincible status did not go unnoticed in Lisbon either, and they bought the trainer for ten million.

Amorim is now at the helm for four games in the green-white part of Lisbon. His team defeated relegation candidates Aves, Paços Ferreira and Tondela. Against Vitória Guimarães it ended in a 1-1 draw. As a result, the noteworthy head coach of the fifteen league matches has only drawn two and has not lost. He won the race thirteen times. It seems that he has taken the same formation from Braga, beating Belenenses 1-7 earlier this season. The 3-4-3 formation with Rafael Camacho on the right winger also seems to catch on with another club.
