Bayern Munich vs Liverpool PREVIEW & PREDICTION 13/03/2019

The last day of the eighth finals of the Champions League has a real squatter. After the 0-0 in the first leg, FC Bayern Munich and Liverpool FC have everything to play for.

FC Bayern:

Bayern Munich was the team that was most satisfied with the scoreless draw three weeks ago. The Germans certainly did not come to Anfield Road to make the game. Der FCB escaped several times in the first half, but the longer the match lasted, the better the Munichers had control of the game. Coach Niko Kovac finally got what he and his team came for: a draw and therefore a good starting position for Wednesday’s return match in the Allianz Arena.

Since the draw in England, Bayern has shown good form in its own country, with three victories in a row. In addition, the team played quite well in the last two games – Bayern scored no less than eleven times. Last Saturday they were 6-0 too strong for VfL Wolfsburg. Due to the good recent results, and the many points loss of competitor Borussia Dortmund, Bayern has again become the leader in the Bundesliga. The seventh national title in a row is suddenly a realistic prospect again.

Joshua Kimmich received his third European yellow card of the season in Liverpool. The right back is therefore suspended for a competition. Thomas Müller is still sitting out of his suspension after his red card in the last group match, against Ajax. Arjen Robben is injured and cannot be used.

Liverpool FC:

At Liverpool, the chagrin dominated after the first game. The English played a very decent first half, in which the necessary chances were forced. However, none of these were cashed in, so there was no lead. As the game progressed, Liverpool became more cautious. The 0-0 was the result in the end. In any case, the zero was kept in a European home game. Even though Jürgen Klopp’s team did not score themselves; Liverpool is certainly not hopeless in the return.

The shape of the Liverpudlians is less flashy than that of Bayern. Liverpool has played a bit too often in the Premier League lately, as a result of which they have lost the lead to Manchester City. Last Saturday there was won by LFC. Burnley was beaten 4-2 on Anfield Road. Klopp, unlike his colleague Kovac, has no dealings with suspended players. The German trainer can just about send his strongest team into the field.
