One third of the season has already been completed in the second Austrian Bundesliga. So far, the league is extremely balanced and almost anyone can beat anyone. Between the third and third last place in the table are just a meager five meters.
At the lower end of this crowd is the Bundesliga relegated Wacker Innsbruck. This weekend, the Tyroleans are in action abroad – in the capital there is a duel between Austria Vienna 2 and Wacker Innsbruck!
Austria Wien 2 – which are also often referred to as the “Young Violets” – caught a real horror start in the current season, but recently showed the shape curve significantly upwards. Nevertheless, the team is still on the penultimate place in the table with only eight points.
The Tyroleans have 13 points on the credit side and finally want to rejoice after three winless league games. The bookmakers see in the duel between Austria Vienna 2 and Wacker Innsbruck according to current quotas minimum benefits for the guests. The game starts on Friday evening at 18:10.
Austria Vienna 2:
By increasing the second Austrian league from ten to 16 teams also amateur teams were allowed again. The second guard of the Vienna Austria – the Young Violets – was one of the beneficiaries of this regulation. In the premiere year, however, the young talents had to pay a little apprenticeship and finished only 13th.
There was a lot of apprentice at the beginning of the current season, because the team of head coach Harald Suchard hastened from one defeat to the next. Despite six defeats en suite, no personnel consequences were drawn – a decision that has since paid off. Since the narrow 2: 1 against Liefering (late August), the team remained without defeat.
After two goalless draws against SV Ried and forward Steyr, Austria Wien 2 was finally able to write in the derby against FAC on matchday seven. The 4-1 victory seems to have liberating effect, because before the international break, there was the starter GAK a 3-2 victory. Eight points out of ten matches mean the penultimate place, but now the saving shore is in sight of five points behind in sight.
With Wacker Innsbruck is now exactly the team that is above the ominous line. With the third victory in series, the Young Violets would finally be back in the race. Recently, head coach Harald Suchard got reinforcements from the professional team. The central defenders Handl and Jarjue as well as top scorer Sarkaria (four goals) are already Bundesliga-approved. A reinforcement that is certainly important.
The momentum speaks in these days certainly for the second guard of the Viennese violets. Nevertheless, the bookmakers offer on Friday evening between Austria Vienna 2 and Wacker Innsbruck for the prognosis for the home win slightly higher odds than for the success of the guests from Innsbruck.
Wacker Innsbruck:
In the first weeks of the season, the Bundesliga relegated presented especially in the home Tivoli Stadium in outstanding condition. The first four home games were won, but in foreign countries the Grumser-Eleven could not build on these achievements. Only in the fourth away game succeeded at all a goal. After the 2: 2 draw at Liefering – the first away point – but lost the home strength at the Grumser-Eleven.
In the last two league home games before the international break Wacker Innsbruck had beaten both the much weaker classified teams of SV Lafnitz and SV Kapfenberg. Above all, the 1: 2 against taillight Kapfenberg was a bitter disappointment, because so far, the hawks from Styria were still winless.
Despite a very courageous offensive performance Wacker Innsbruck had beaten 1: 2. Once again, Wacker played Innsbruck quite sympathetic until the opposing 16er, the lack of a top striker is in the blood young team (the oldest player, Alexander Gründler, is 26 years old), however, not to be dismissed out of hand. Again and again, Wacker Innsbruck brings to the fruits of the work due to the lack of effectiveness in the offensive.
In terms of personnel, Thomas Grumser still has to do without defender Stefan Meusburger on the Young Violets in Vienna. Already against Kapfenberg he was missing, now he has to watch two more games due to a red card. Returner Rami Tekir (cruciate ligament injury) will not be available due to injury – but otherwise all players are ready for action.
Three games without a win, defeat in the friendly against Vaduz and not a single victory in the league are not necessarily arguments that make a tip on the guests seem lucrative. However, Wacker Innsbruck in the Cup (victory against the GAK) has already shown that victories can be retracted abroad. In addition, the squad is certainly to classify stronger and the services were often appealing.
With better chances utilization we see good chances of success between Austria Vienna 2 and Wacker Innsbruck in the prognosis on the guests.
