Atl. Madrid vs Juventus PREVIEW & PREDICTION 20/02/2019

Atletico Madrid and Juventus meet in the 8th round of the UEFA Champions League final. The confrontation will be played on Wednesday, at 20:00 on Wanda Metropolitano.

The two bands have met twice before. Both confrontations were played within the 2014/2015 UEFA Champions League, double of which the Iberians won 4 points, thanks to the home win (1-0) and the draw from Torino (0-0).

Diego Simeone’s band arrives with an excellent morale at this match after they managed to return to the second position of the La Liga, after Cristiano Ronaldo’s former Real Madrid team confused himself in front of the Girona, the game in which they gave up with the score of 1-2, although they led to the break. Atletico was forced to score 1-0 with Rayo Vallecano, with Antoine Griezmann in the 74th minute.

In Group A of the UEFA Champions League, the Madridians did not face any major difficulties, succeeding in qualifying in the elimination phase of the second position, being the first-ranked points player Borussia Dortmund. On their own ground, they had a perfect balance, three wins of as many as possible, with seven goals scored and one received.

Lucas Hernández (injured) will not be present in the host team for this duel, while Koke is uncertain.

Cristiano Ronaldo has no less than 30 matches played against Atletico Madrid, half of them being won. Also, the Portuguese player has no less than 21 goals scored against Real’s rival, 8 passes and one elimination.

Juventus is facing this confrontation after two victories in Serie A, Frosinone home and Sassuolo, two of six goals scored by Cristiano Ronaldo.

Massimiliano Allegri will not be able to count on Juan Cuadrado in this match, injured.

Probable teams:

Atletico Madrid: Cloud – Arias, Gimenez, Godin, Luis – Correa, Rodrigo, Partey, Niguez – Morata, Griezmann;

Juventus: Szczesny – Cancelo, Bonucci, Chiellini, Sandro – Pjanic, Bentancur, Matuidi – Dybala – Mandzukic, Ronaldo;

Felix Zwayer is the center of this duel, a referee who showed no less than 27 yellow cards in the four UEFA Champions League games he led this season, minimum 6 warnings in each match. Being a stalemate, we expect Diego Simeone to prepare his well-known defensive play, involving many fragmentations of the game. Under these circumstances, it is possible for the nerves to succumb at some point, and the referee to call his card pocket. We count on at least 5 warnings offered by Felix Zwayer in the match between Atletico Madrid and Juventus.

PREDICTION: Both teams to score / NO @ 1,68
