On Friday, November 29, from 16:00, Astra Giurgiu will receive on his own field the visit of the Gaz Metan Mediaș formation in the prologue of the 18th round of League 1.
It is announced to be one of the most interesting duels of the round considering the form that the two formations go through during this period.
Astra is the team of the moment in Liga 1 having a series of six consecutive games without defeat, the Giurgiuven having victories on the line in the last five games sustained in the championship, a series that propelled the “twins” Budescu and Alibec to the 4th place in the ranking, at only 3 points from the leader of CFR Cluj, one point from Viitorul and equal points with the University that completes the podium but has a superior goal.
On the other side Gaz Metan is on the 5th place with 27 points, on par with FCSB which is on the 6th place with a lower goal. Edward Iordănescu’s Transylvanians have a series of four consecutive matches without defeat in Liga 1, but they have only one victory and three draws.
In the last five “straight” in Liga 1, Astra has imposed twice, Gaz Metan only once while two games ended undecided. In the tour, Gaz Metan Mediaș pushed himself to the limit with 1-0 thanks to a success signed by Sergiu Buș in the 56th minute.
