Anderlecht vs Mouscron PREVIEW & PREDICTION 23/08/2020

Anderlecht and Mouscron will meet each other for the last game on Sunday. Will the home team remain unbeaten with a new trainer on board? Or will the visitors get away with their first victory of the season?

Anderlecht:

Vincent Kompany’s project starts its second season, but coach Vincent Kompany will make his debut on Sunday. “We are stronger than last season,” Vincent Kompany makes no bones about it. “We are further than twelve months ago, but we are not quite as far as Club Brugge. They have been able to link prices to a soul and an identity. That must be our goal. I don’t invent anything in today’s Anderlecht. I understand that the fans are hungry for results. I will pursue that without denying my philosophy and that of the club. ”

Bogdan ‘Mykha’ Mykhaylichenko and Percy Tau made their debut at Anderlecht last weekend. The first started in the base, the other fell in. Both scored immediately. Mykhaylichenko swung past some defenders and put a ball in the corner. The Ukrainian showed a lot of walking ability. When Tau came in, they went crazy in South Africa. Twitter exploded and it did even more when he scored the 3-1: a delicious lob over the keeper.

Lukas Nmecha’s rental deal has been finalized and Anderlecht has a new attacker. A German youth international from Manchester City, that doesn’t sound bad. But will Nmecha soon succeed? Anderlecht have little scoring power in the team and Nmecha will have to give Vincent Kompany more options. The 21-year-old German can take some of the pressure off the other two strikers. It is not entirely certain that Nmecha guarantees goals. He can’t exactly present the best statistics. Nmecha may have played 72 games in his early career, but his goal total is … three goals.

Royal Excel Mouscron:

Mouscron keeps a close eye on the Belgian players market. The Henegouwers first hired Robby Quirynen from Antwerp and now they have a promising player from Club Brugge in mind. Excel Mouscron shows interest in Cyril Ngonge. Ngonge was loaned out by Club Brugge to Young PSV last season to make playing minutes. In 22 matches in the Dutch second division, the attacking winger was good for seven goals and three assists. Will he soon go to le Canonnier on a rental basis in his search for more playing minutes?

Both Mouscron and Mechelen had booked a nice draw on the first day, so the coaches did not have to intervene. After a few minutes it was clear which way the game would go. A well-kept football playing Mechelen had to demolish the double wall of Mouscron. After ten minutes that was already fixed. Onana put Rob Schoofs over his leg and gave away a simple penalty kick. That penalty kick grew into a real soap.

Based on the game, Mouscron did not claim points against KV Mechelen. However, they found it very sour at Le Cannonier the way the only goal of the match came about. “I thought those penalties were bizarre. During the game it was not a point of discussion. But a first penalty kick, then there is a second, a third and finally the goal. That is bizarre. We did not give up and continued to work. It’s not that we were bad, we showed certain things. We will continue to work and see what we can do in the next game, “said Beni Badibanga.
