Thursday, starting at 19:30, Anderlecht – Club Brugge will play in the second round of the Jupiler League playoff, 2018-2019.
In the regular season, Club Brugge defeated 2-1 on home ground and drew away, scoring 2-2. But in Brussels, guests have not won since 1998-1999.
Anderlecht started the play-off for the title of Belgian champion, as it could not have been worse. The winner of 2016-2017, lost on the ground of leader Genk, score 0-3. Fred Rutten’s band currently has 26 points in the leaderboard, 9 away from the leaderboard. Yannick Bolasie, the Everton borrowed midfielder, is one of the hosts’ top players in 2019, congolese 4 times in eight games.
The en-titre champion started with a 3-0 win against the Gent. Club Brugge “keeps close” to the leader of Genk, with 31 points, only 4 less than the team where the former Craiovean, Vladimir Screciu, is legitimate. In 2019, “Blue-Black” lost two home matches, with Charleroi and Mouscron, failures that heavily weighed against Genk. Coach Ivan Leko will have to do without Benoit Poulain, with French defender uncertain.
Club Brugge has not managed to beat the rival, for over 20 years. Anderlecht is more than able to “snatch” at least one point, but we do not think it will be a very attractive match.
PREDICTION: Both teams to score / YES @ 1.65
