Early Looks at the English Premier League Promises Excitement

So the EURO 2020 is gone, and all the football fans are wondering what to do now. Currently, there aren’t any games on the menu, but fortunately for all those people, that won’t last for too long as all the major domestic championships start very soon.

English Premier League kick-off in less than four weeks, and the fans are already starting to debate about the next champion. Manchester City is the reigning champion, and according to the bookmakers, Pep Guardiola’s side has the biggest chances to defend the trophy.

The bookies have set the odds for the Citizens’ win at 9/11, and the next team, Liverpool, comes way back at 5/1. So you can get a clear picture here when talking about the difference between Guardiola’s crew and all the others. The current European champions, Chelsea, comes third with 6/1 while Manchester United follows the team from London at 9/1. All other teams are pretty much without a realistic chance to lift the trophy – Tottenham 30/1, Arsenal, 50/1, and Leicester 60/1. For all those who are still working on their strategy for betting in the upcoming season, you can find an excellent football betting guide on this link.

When talking about the individual awards, the odds for the top goalscorer favor the three-time champ, Harry Kane, who was last year’s winner as well. The captain of the English national team will be the main prize of the transfer deadline, as he informed his Spurs after the finish of the 2021 campaign that he wishes to leave the club. Kane is aware that his future with Tottenham isn’t that bright because the Spurs don’t have what it takes to win trophies.

Anyway, Kane’s odds to win the title are at 4/1 at the moment. Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, who won this honor twice, is second, 6/1, while City’s Raheem Sterling stands at 10/1. Chelsea’s Timo Werner is 12/1, but do know that this could change if the Blues land Erling Haaland, which is the story these days. Diogo Jota from Liverpool has the same chances per bookmakers, 12/1, while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Sadio Mane sit at 18/1.

We’ve mentioned Haaland’s possible landing at Stamford, and that isn’t the only mega-deal that might take place at the moment. The sources are suggesting that the above-mentioned Kane might sign with Manchester United, while on the other side, Manchester City could bring Romelu Lukaku.

The upcoming two, three weeks will be very interesting when it comes to transfers, as we expect to see blockbusters more frequent with the start of the season approaches.

English teams are the most attractive for playing, and it is no wonder every player wishes to become a part of the Premier League. It significantly increases the quality of this competition, which further causes the EPL clubs to be much better than their international competition.

So it is really no wonder once we see that four of the top six UEFA Champions League favorites come from this country.

Manchester City is first 11/4, Bayern Munich follows the Citizens ar 5/1, while Liverpool sits third, 8/1, slightly ahead of the French powerhouse, PSG, 17/1. The reigning champions Chelsea are fifth, 9/1, followed by Manchester United, 10/1. Only then come the Spanish titans, Real Madrid and Barcelona at 16/1.

The fans, and we too, can’t wait for the season to start. This campaign has the potential to be one of the most interesting in the history of English football, as the concentration of quality threatens to hit the ceiling.

The season opener takes place at Brentford Comunity Stadium, where Brentford meets Arsenal on August 13. The Bees won the promotion last season, and are in the English Premier League for the first time since its establishment.
