Preview
Tonight in a great match of Champions League, Fiorentina will host Tottenham looking to take a major step toward finally returning to the quarterfinals.
Great match for betting and placing bets, it will be a very important match for Fiorentina and they will try to won it.
Spurs have been inconsistent of late, after a 1-1 draw with West Ham, followed by a victory over Arsenal with a disappointing road loss to Liverpool and tough home draw to Fiorentina in the Europa League. Spurs are ranked on the seven place in tha standings and are not happy. Tottenham have been let down by their defending of late, unable to post a clean sheet in three matches. A good news is that Pochettino has reported no new injury for tonight’s match and will have a fully-fit squad at his disposal. He is in the difficult position of having to prioritise between trying to finish fourth in the league and trying to win the Europa League as he looks to bring Champions League football back to the Lane.
Because the team want’s the Europa League it is possible that this will have an effect on Tottenham in the long run – but not against West Ham. It’s difficult to play on Thursdays and then again on a Sunday but they can put that to one side against a West Ham side who have hit a brick wall. Spurs will keep the pressure on in the race for the top four with a very good win. They are unbeaten in their last seven home matches in the league (W5, D2) – having lost four of their first six.
Fiorentina were also held in their domestic competition at the weekend, with Mohamed Salah’s 85th-minute goal not enough to secure maximum points against Torino.
“Our defence held up well over the 90 minutes against Torino but we were naive to concede that goal,” Montella told Sky Italia. “We weren’t very clear-headed in the final minutes; we’ll learn from that for the future”. Fiorentina will be confident of overcoming a Spurs side who will have half an eye on Sunday’s Capital One Cup final on Sunday and have not travelled particularly well in Europe this season.
