FC Botosani vs Astra PREVIEW & PREDICTION 11/12/2020

FC Botoșani – Astra Giurgiu will take place on Friday at 16:00 in the prologue of the 13th round of League 1.

The two teams are far from the form of last season in which they played in the playoffs, approaching the duel on the 11th places with 13 points, respectively 15 with 9 points. The Moldovans, but especially the people from Giurgiu, were disappointed by the course they had in this championship, only by a miracle to re-edit the performance of the last edition of League 1.
In the previous round, both teams ended the matches they played in the championship. If Astra was held in chess on its own field by Chindia Târgoviște, score 0-0, instead Marius Croitoru’s boys missed the victory at Sf. Gheorghe with Sepsi, score 2-2, the hosts equalizing in the last phase of the match although they were at one point led 2-0 on the scoreboard.

FC Botoșani has only one victory in the last 10 matches played in League 1;
Only one victory ticked FC Botoșani this season at home in the five games played, recording two draws and two defeats;
In 8 of the 12 games of the Moldovans this season of League 1, the selection “over 2.5 goals” was the winner;
A victory, a draw and three defeats is the ranking line of the Girugiu players away this season;
In 6 of the last 8 “direct” selections “both score” was the winner;

Marius Croitoru’s team is going through a crisis of results in League 1 where it obtained only one victory in the last 10 stages, the one away with Gaz Metan, score 2-1. On the other hand, even if it failed to win the previous round with Chindia, Astra is changed for the better since the arrival of Eugen Neagoe, Giurgiu being undefeated under his command, recording two draws and a success in the championship, but also a victory concluding in the Romanian Cup with Ripensia, score 5-1, competition where, like the Moldovans who beat Chiajna 2-0, Budescu & co continues its adventure.

Astra is one of the few teams in League 1 with which Moldovans have a much lower record. In the 18 “direct” matches, the team from Botosani managed to get only two victories, the team from Giurgiu winning 11 games, the remaining five duels ending in a draw.

An extremely important detail that could weigh heavily in the economy of this match is given by the fact that Marius Croitoru had more than 48 hours more than Eugen Neagoe to prepare for this duel, FC Botoșani evolving in the championship in the 12th round -to St. George’s on Saturday, while the people of Giurgiu received on Monday in their own field in the same round the visit of Chindia.

PREDICTION: Both teams to score / YES @ 1,85
