Wales vs Bulgaria PREVIEW & PREDICTION 06/09/2020

On Sunday, at 14:00, Wales will receive a visit from Bulgaria, in the second round of the UEFA Nations League groups. Ryan Giggs’ team started well in the B4 group, with a success on the field of Finland (1-0). Instead, Bulgaria drew in the first round against Ireland, score 1-1, at home.

At Cardiff Stadium, the match refereed by the Portuguese Verissimo promises to produce many fouls and fixed phases. With a very good defense, Wales is in a series of 7 consecutive matches without failure, and in the last year the only national team that scored more than one goal in the Welsh goal was the finalist from CM, Croatia. That says a lot about organizing your weekend favorite.

Since then, the white-reds have won with Azerbaijan (2-1), Belarus (1-0) or Hungary (2-0), drawing with Slovakia (1-1) and Croatia (1-1, in return, in Euro 2020 preliminaries). The “Under 2.5 Goals” bet is very profitable with the Welsh. With Bulgaria, Gareth Bale is announced as the starter, but Ramsey and Joe Allen are not in the group. However, the Welsh national team’s game has been solid and homogeneous lately.

In the last 10 matches of Ryan Giggs’ national team, only twice have more than two goals been scored: 1-2 with Croatia and 2-1 with Azerbaijan. So, there is no reason to expect a high score in the League of Nations.

Bulgaria lacks brilliance in the group, but comes after a good match with Ireland (1-1), in which it was tied in overtime! Even so, the white-greens have only one success in the last 15 matches played and do not present great offensive “guarantees”. It is remarkable that the last three direct duels between Bulgaria and Wales ended with the same score, 1-0, the white-reds achieving two away successes (2007 and 2011).
