Burnley vs Watford PREVIEW & PREDICTION 25/06/2020

On Thursday, at 18:00, Burnley and Watford duel in a match that can be decisive in relegation, in the Premier League. The guests start as favorites on Turf Moor, after they “snatched” a draw with Leicester (1-1), last stage. Burnley comes after an infernal match with City.

Watford is in 16th place (goal difference 28-45), with only one victory in the last five stages and a one-point lead over the first team below the relegation line – Bournemouth. Instead, Burnley is much calmer and no longer has emotions with the “hot” zone – 11th place (goal average 34-40) and 39 points. No less than 11 points separate the two rivals from Thursday night, in the ranking of England.

Burnley got good results before the suspension of the championship, including draws with Arsenal (0-0), Newcastle (0-0) and Tottenham (1-1), but also victories with other teams in suffering, Southampton (2-1) and Bournemouth (3-0). Watford used a slightly improvised first “11” last weekend with Leicester, but he has individuals capable of making a difference in this match.

In the tour we witnessed a victory for Burnley, away, where Sean Dyche’s team took advantage of his moments of superiority. With a well-organized and aggressive game, the success of the guests was totally deserved. On Thursday night, the hosts could be without the input of Chris Wood, Johann Gudmundsson and Ashley Barnes, while Watford does not have Isaac Success, Gerard Deulofeu and Daryl Janmaat. It is possible that the extra freshness of the Londoners will make a difference in this game.

-In the round, Burnley won on Vicarage Road 3-0 (goals from Wood, A. Barnes and Tarkowski);
-Watford has only one win in the last five direct duels with Burnley;
-The “Over 2.5 goals in the match” bet was the winner in 3 of the last 4 direct duels;
-Burnley have won 7 games and lost 6 of the 15 played this season on Turf Moor;
-Watford is not a travel specialist: only two victories in 15 stages (goal difference 11-27);
