It can be that fast. The last spark of hope for the championship playoffs went out for Wisla Krakow last weekend. The “Biala Gwiazda” received a 0: 4 swatter against the runners-up Piast Gliwice. For the 14-time Polish champion from Krakow, the relegation playoffs are therefore taking place this season.
For now, however, three games of the regular season have to be completed. Wisla Krakow is facing an explosive match against Legia Warsaw on Sunday evening. The special rivalry between the two clubs cannot be fully lived out this time. Instead of a cauldron atmosphere, the game between Wisla Krakow vs. Legia Warsaw against a ghost backdrop.
There can therefore be no question of a home advantage. For the “Legionisci”, the calm atmosphere in the Wisla Stadium is perfectly appropriate. After the recent away win at Lech Posen, the guests from Warsaw also want to win with their rival from Kraków and thus improve the starting position for the championship playoffs. Legia currently has an eight-point lead over the runners-up.
This lead is halved in the playoffs. Therefore, there can be no question of a preliminary decision in the championship race. All the more important for Legia is a winning streak in the end of the season to at least maintain the current lead. The best bookmakers at Wisla Krakow against Legia Warsaw see the guests as favorites according to odds. A forecast on this is definitely recommended.
Wisla Krakow:
Wisla Krakow missed the championship playoffs in Ekstraklasa for the second time in a row. This exacerbates the crisis at “Biala Gwiazda”. Last weekend Wisla Krakow was literally demonstrated at the re-start of the Polish Ekstraklasa. The red and whites conceded a bitter 0: 4 away slump in second place from Gliwice.
In the upcoming match, Wisla Krakow now meets the rival from Warsaw. If it is up to the season balance sheet of both teams so far, Wisla Krakow vs. Legia Warsaw hardly anything for the home side. A forecast on the home side will also be associated with a lot of risk due to the ghost scenery.
After all, the home advantage is very important for Polish clubs – especially for controversial couples like Wisla vs. Legia. How important home law can be for some teams was explained in detail in the betting base guide on home advantage. Whether the series of five home games can continue without defeat remains uncertain for the time being.
Coach Artur Skowronek wants to at least end the regular season with his team. A home win over a rival like Legia Warsaw would be of great importance, especially since Wisla Krakow still has an open bill to settle. The “Biala Gwiazda” received a 0: 7 pack in Warsaw.
Skowronek will be able to draw as much as possible on the home game against the “Legionisci”. Only Israeli center forward Alon Turgeman is currently on Wisla Krakau’s injured list. Left-back Sadlok, however, is missing.
Legia Warsaw:
In contrast to the league competitor from Krakow, Legia Warsaw has successfully mastered the restart. After reaching the semi-finals in the Polish Cup, the “Legionisci” had a narrow away win at Lech Posen, a potential opponent in the championship playoffs, on the last day of Ekstraklasa.
The season at national level has so far been going according to plan for Legia. The Ekstraklasa leaders are the strongest offensive in the Polish upper house with 55 goals in 27 games. On average there were two goals from Legia per game. Abroad, Legia Warsaw had a record of 7-2-4 in 13 away games this season.
Most recently, the “Legionisci” remained unbeaten three times in a row. Coach Aleksandar Vukovic now wants to expand this series with the rival from Kraków. The coach of the “Legionisci” can largely use all the forces in the squad. The Serbian trainer is unlikely to make any changes compared to the youngest starting eleven.
In the away win in Poznan, Tomas Pekhart scored the decisive goal for 1-0 success. The Czech goalkeeper completed the fourth competitive game in Legia dress. Pekhart currently has two goals and an assist. It is quite possible that the Czech will expand these statistics in the championship playoffs, especially since Vukovic is likely to rely on Pekhart in the starting eleven.
PREDICTION: Legia to win @ 1,58
