On Wednesday at 17:55 there will be a match between Shakhtior-Atalanta, the match counting for the last leg of Group C of the Champions League.
The duel will be decisive for the qualification in the upper stages of the competition. Except for Manchester City, who with 11 points are mathematically qualified from the first place of the group in the spring of the Champions League, all the other three teams in the group, Shakhtior, Atalanta and Dinamo Zagreb have a chance at the second place in the group which ensures the qualification in spring Champions League.
Before the matches of the last stage of Group C, Șahtior is on the second place with 6 points while Atalanta is on the last place with 4 points, the third place being occupied by Dinamo Zagreb with 5 points.
The Ukrainians are in their hands because if they defeat Atalanta they qualify no matter what the result will be in Croatia between Dinamo Zagreb and Manchester City. The Italians can only qualify if they win in Ukraine and Dinamo Zagreb does not win the match on their own ground with City. In contrast, in the case of a draw in Ukraine between Shakhtior and Atalanta, and a positive result of the “citizens” in Croatia, those who go further are the Ukrainians. Dinamo Zagreb can only qualify if he defeats Manchester City, and Shakhti doesn’t win all the points played with Atalanta!
