Mouscron vs Club Brugge KV PREVIEW & PREDICTION 18/10/2019

The Belgian national football team underpins in the current European Championship qualifying once more the role as top team. The red devils have a crisp white vest after eight games and fixed as the first team ever the EM ticket.

Hardly a player from the Belgian team is still under contract at home. The Jupiler Pro League is not one of the smaller leagues in Europe. This weekend will be the eleventh day of the game! It will open on Friday evening with the duel between Royal Excel Mouscron and Bruges!

Both teams can be quite satisfied with the season so far. The home side are allowed after a good start to the season currently flirting with the master-play-off. The guests, on the other hand, are currently the absolute non plus ultra of Belgian club football and lead the table confidently without defeat.

The Champions League participant is considered by the bookmakers on Friday evening as a big favorite. The game starts at 19:30.

Royal Excel Mouscron:

The financial bankruptcy of Excelsior Mouscron caused in 2010 for a merger between the bankrupt club and the R.R.C. Peruwelz. As a result, the survival was secured and since the 2014/15 season, the club plays again in the Belgian football upper house.

In the past season, the team finished in tenth place in the basic round and thus reached the best result since the re-founding. The championship play-off – speak a top six place after 30 games – could not yet be achieved.

In the play-offs, the team presented by the German head coach Bernd Storck but not convincing and reached in ten games only eight points. Storck then had to vacate his chair, with Bernd Hollerbach, however, is again a German working as a coach.

The ex-HSV coach looks back so far on a very satisfactory season. In ten games, there were 16 points, while the team remained at home without defeat.

There have been five home games at Le Canonnier Stadium and thereby collected the Hollerbach Eleven eleven out of 15 possible points. The only two defeats were stranger to Standard Liege (1: 4) and before the international break at KRC Genk (1: 2). The defeat in Genk was already the third league game without success, because before there were two division of points.

However, a team at Mouscron, which is clearly superior to the Hollerbach protégés, will be visiting the standings. A point win would be a surprise to that effect.

In the squad of the current table eighth of the Belgian Jupiler Pro League are with Kevin Wimmer or Sami Allagui players with Germany past. Best scorer is currently City loan Aleix Garcia, who scored four of the 14 goals this season – mind you as a central midfielder!

Bruges:

Philippe Clement dominates the Belgian league! In the past season, the 45-year-old coach succeeded with the KRC Genk winning the title in the league. Despite this success, he decided to turn his back on the club; finally an offer of his heart club fluttered in. Club Bruges wanted him again as head coach and thus he followed the Croatian Ivan Leko. Clement was a player at Bruges from 1999 to 2009 and co-coach with Michel Preud’homme and Juan Carlos Garrido from 2012 to 2007.

Now he is finally responsible for the results and they can be proud of. The feeling of a competitive defeat knows Clemenet sometimes not yet. 16 competitive games were under his direction, while he has a splendid 11-5-0 record. Not only national dominated the club the league, but also internationally, the results can be seen.

The Champions League reached Bruges against the Austrian runner-up LASK. In the first two group matches, the Belgian Underdog won against Galatasaray Istanbul and Real Madrid each a draw.

In the domestic championship Bruges has completed a game less (before the CL playoff second leg Brugge was free), but is still three points ahead of the competition. Absolutely outstanding is the defensive, as goalkeeper Simon Mignolet (formerly Liverpool) suffered only three goals in the league. But even the offensive can be seen – after all, their 25 hits to book!

In the offensive 4-3-3 system, Bruges is extremely variable. Because not only the threesome offensive impresses by enormous Torgefahr, but above all the experienced midfielder. Hans Vanaken (five goals, one assist) and Ruud Vormer (seven assists) are always in danger.

Many goals are to be expected, especially thanks to Bruges. In terms of personnel, the leaders of the standings will have to relinquish South African striker Percy Tau on Friday night due to tendon irritation, but Lois Openda has plenty of talent to spare.

PREDICTION: Club Brugge KV to win @ 1,49
