On Sunday, at 17pm, Scotland receives the visit of San Marino State, at Hampden Park Arena in Glasgow. The hosts have already come out of the fight for Euro qualification, but are looking for a success with a modest national San Marino.
San Marino is the weakest national in Europe at the moment, but Scotland does not feel too great. From the 5th place in the first group of Euro qualification, the Scots have accumulated only 6 points in 7 stages (two victories) and come after four defeats in the last five rounds. Belgium and Russia will qualify for this group, where Cyprus and Kazakhstan play.
There is not much to say about San Marino, because the results speak for themselves. The semi-amateur group comes after scores of 0-9 with Russia and Belgium and lost three times with 0-4, against Kazakhstan, Belgium and Cyprus. In contrast, Scotland managed “only” a 2-0 away from Serravalle in March this year. So far, the two national teams have met eight times and Scotland has always won, without a goal: only scores of 2-0, 4-0, 5-0!
Scotland have lost the last four consecutive matches, with Belgium and Russia. As I correctly predicted, Scotland resisted a tie in Moscow, with Russia, but the hosts broke up after the break, when they scored four times: through Dzyuba (2), Ozdoev and Golovin. The statistics were overwhelming to the detriment of the British, who do not seem to raise the level with the generation of Robertson, Mulgrew, Fleck, Snodgrass, McGinn, Fraser and McGregor. We will see a victory of the favorites, but not necessarily a huge score.
PREDICTION: Over 4,5 goals @ 1,38
