Brighton vs Burnley PREVIEW & PREDICTION 14/09/2019

On Saturday, from 15:00 pm, Brighton returns to their own home ground in the match with Burnley, in the fifth round of the first English league. Florin Andone is again available for selection, but Gary Monk cannot rely on Izqueirdo, Schelotto and Bissouma. Burnley is absent only from Gudmundsson.

With only one victory in the last 13 championship games, the “fishermen” will again be engaged in the fight to avoid relegation. Moreover, Andone’s team is unsuccessful on its own 7 consecutive matches! The statistics also show that Burnley has lost undefeated in the last four straight duels with Brighton, who has not passed this opponent since 2013.

Brighton is usually involved in matches with little goals, because the blue-and-white style of play is rather cautious, focused on the defensive agglomeration. On the other hand, Burnley is a team that easily scores goals at the end of the match, and the hosts have a good chance to get three vital points. Comparatively, 6 of Brighton’s last 8 goals were scored after the first 30 minutes, so we can only expect a lively second half.

Burnley is 12th in the Premier League (5-6 goalscoring), while Brighton is 16th (4-7 goalscoring). The hosts are coming off a 0-2 draw with Southampton and a 0-4 win over Manchester City, but they beat Bristol Rovers in the League Cup 2-1. Burnley have lost three of the last four official matches, including championship duels with Arsenal (1-2) and Liverpool (0-3). We expect a closed game here!
