Slovan Bratislava vs Dundalk PREVIEW & PREDICTION 07/08/2019

On Wednesday, at 17:15 pm, Slovan Bratislava receives a visit from Dundalk, in the UEFA Europa League preliminaries. The match counts for the first leg of the preliminary round 3, and the Slovaks are big favorites in the duel on Tehelne Pole, in Bratislava.

Slovan is an experienced team at this level, very physically strong. As usual, the Slovaks will choke their opponent with aggressive pressure and consistent play in the middle of the field, and Dundalk is not used to facing such well-organized and tactically disciplined opponents.

Slovan comes after easy victories in the championship, with Pohronie (3-1), Michalovce (3-0) and Senica (3-0), but also after a slight qualification in front of Feronikeli, after 2-0 away and 2- 1 on own land. The Bratislava team was involved in the UEFA Champions League qualifiers, where Slovan was surprisingly eliminated by Sutjeska, after 1-1 at home and 1-1 away. The return was decided on penalties, where Sutjeska prevailed with 3-2, after Sporar missed the decisive execution for the guests.

Now, Slovan does not plan to miss the qualification in front of a limited opponent, who dominates the competition in Ireland, but without making any fuss in Europe. Dundalk was eliminated from the UCL preliminaries by Qarabag, after 1-1 at home and 0-3 away. In the championship, Dundalk comes after a short 1-0 with St. Patricks. Although it does very well internally, the Irish band is inferior to Slovan in all the chapters.

PREDICTION: Over 2,5 goals @ 1,85
