Friday, from 20:00 pm, Cork City receives a visit from St. Patricks, in the 28th round of the first Irish football league. We expect a duel with few goals, because both teams have suffered from an offensive point lately.
The Turners Cross match finds the hosts in a rather uncomfortable situation. Without victory in the last four matches played in the championship, Cork comes after a 1-1 at home with Shamrock Rovers, but the course of the Europa League has already ended. The Irish were eliminated by the Luxembourgers from Niedercorn, after 0-2 at home and 2-1 away.
Instead, St. Patricks has even less optimism: the red-and-white team has lost the last five matches without a goal! He went 0-2 with Norrkoping, 0-4 with Chelsea (friendly), 1-2 with Norrkoping, 0-3 with Bohemians and 0-1 with champion Dundalk. Against such a background, St. Patricks has minimal chances for a favorable result on Friday night.
Even though three of the last four straight duels of the two teams ended with a score of 1-1, we do not think they are likely to see an offensive show this time. In the standings, St. Patricks is in 5th place, at a great distance from the podium (goal 21-26), while Cork came close to the relegation zone, 8th out of 10 (goal 20-30).
PREDICTION: Both teams to score / NO @ 1,66
