Haiti vs Mexico PREVIEW & PREDICTION 03/07/2019

On 3 July, at 03:00, Haiti meets Mexico’s national team in the Gold Cup 2010 semifinals. The Haitians have surprised everyone with the course of this competition, but the Mexicans are starting their favorite in this unbalanced duel, scheduled at Glendale.

Haiti came in the semifinals after defeating Canada by 3-2, and the Caribbean nation has reached four consecutive wins. With a charming offensive, Haiti has been underestimated by Gold Cup opponents, but Mexico will not make the same fatal mistake. Until now, Mexico has defeated Cuba (7-0), Canada (3-1), Martinique (3-2) and Costa Rica (2-1 after overtime), succeeding in removing Bryan Ruiz’s national competition among favorites at the trophy conquest.

Haiti was imposed against Bermuda (2-0), Nicaragua (2-0), Costa Rica (2-1) and Canada (3-2), but unpleasant memories of the last duel with the Aztecs. More specifically, the Haitians lost 0-4, 1-4, 0-1 and 0-4 in the last direct games, the only consolation being a 1-1 draw in the World Cup qualifiers. Although Haiti has impressed so far, the difference in value between the two batches can not be disputed. We expect soccer players like Guardado, Dos Santos, Jimenez or Moreno to make a difference during the regular time.

Statistics show that Haiti has not seen a 14-game draw, and the show seems guaranteed in this semifinals duel. In 7 of the previous 8 matches played by Mexico scored at least four goals, and the Haitian defensive did not look impressive.

PREDICTION: Over 2,5 goals @ 1,81
