Benin vs Cameroon PREVIEW & PREDICTION 02/07/2019

It is very exciting in group F of the Africa Cup, because all four countries still have a chance to win a place in the eighth finals. The Cameroon coach Clarence Seedorf has the best papers, although it should certainly not choke in tough Benin in her last group match.

Benin:

Benin played a draw against Ghana (2-2) and Guinea-Bissau (0-0), and is therefore in third place in group F. with two points. because it currently falls outside the boat in the intermediate position between the best numbers three. With a win over Cameroon, De Eekhoorns definitely joins the last sixteen, while in a tie it finishes in third place and therefore depends on the numbers three from the other groups.

However, winning from Cameroon will be a tough job for Benin. The country makes its appearance in the Africa Cup for the fourth time this year, but has never managed to win the African country tournament. Against Guinea-Bissau it became painfully clear how little creativity the team of coach Michel Dussuyer has, because despite frequent possession of the yellow shirts the entire match did not go beyond two goal attempts between the posts. Huddersfield Town striker Steve Mounie was closest to a goal, but he also couldn’t make the difference.

Cameroon:

Cameroon is in a much better position, because thanks to a 2-0 victory over Guinea-Bissau and a scoreless draw against Ghana, De Ontembare Leeuwen are already at four points. With that number of points, the country is virtually guaranteed a place in the next round, because even with a defeat to Benin (and a Ghana win over Guinea-Bissau) it would most likely qualify as one of the best numbers three for the eighth finals .

Still, Cameroon would like to win this competition. The group winner of group F escapes a confrontation with strong Nigeria, and ends up on the other side of the schedule of title candidates such as Algeria and Egypt, who can therefore be hit in the final at the earliest. However, I would not be surprised if Seedorf decides to give various key players a rest. Michael Ngadeu-Ngadjui and Olivier Boumale have been suspended on the next yellow card and will therefore probably be left out. Multiple changes are certainly not excluded.
